Fantastic car for town driving and short distances. However if you are doing more than average miles it may be worth looking elsewhere . I say this because the road noise, buzzy engine and hard ride make long trips a bit of hard work. Also I personally found that the seat gives me lower back pain I have seen this on forums too. If you are looking for a town car this will be hard to beat

I've had the car for 4 years and not a problem. I fail to understand the criticism the car gets from the motoring press. Sure it's not a racer it's a hybrid! I find it's fast enough, economical (52mpg av), very reliable and extremely cheap to run and own. Yes, the ride is a little firm, the rear vision could be better. It's the first car I've owned which is more economical on short runs than long ones.

All I can say is some people review cars without thinking, because most cars to day are good cars but some May be slightly better than others. The insight is a very nice car and has lots of good points. I was looking for a automatic car that had good mpg and the insight has . How many automatic cars will do fifty mpg driving in local traffic . Even small cars have job getting 30 mpg in city traffic.! It is hard to see out of the back of most modern cars , if you drive a van or lorry you have only the side mirrors to rely on!

Great car to be honest. It's my first car and the insurance was cheap. Compared to the 300 Euro i would have to pay with any other car. I also got a three-year extended warranty for free. Honda is not doing so great in Holland, but I like their cars. Its just something diffrent on the road than the usual BMW and Mercedes stuff. Waiting for the Honda Accord Plug-in to come to Holland. Had a few problems but the Honda dealer didn't charge me for it, and I had a free Accord for the five-hours' maintenance (they had to wait for brake blocks).

A lovely car, seems to have undue criticism about the ride quality, and honda have recently revised the suspension set up to address this. However, i've found no such concerns. Would certainly have another insight. If honda gave it majic rear seats like the jazz, then loading would be perfect for me.

This is the 2nd ihonda insight 2 hybrid i have owned. I rate it as the best car i've owned.

My record MPG is 83, on average 62 mpg. Easy to drive, light steering, always starts on the button. £10 annual road tax. Cheap insurance. Jeremy Clarkson wouldn't like it, but I love it. Totally reliable.

What's the one thing you like most about your car?

Extremely economical.

If you could improve one thing, what would it be?

It's a firm ride, but the suspension is better for fuel economy, as are light plastics and no headroom in the back seats due to its low drag coefficient. Uncompromisingly economical.

I loved this car ever since I bought it! By far the best car I have ever had! I've 'raced' a few people at traffic lights BMW and AUDI mostly ;), I won setting off, they caught up in a few seconds. You see, I get 52MPG, they get 20-30 if lucky. Although, the electric motor is a bit 'noisy'. My son loves the noise of it though. We are one of only a few in Northern Ireland to have one. Our town seems to have quite a few Prius around. See lots of people staring at me, as I pass them on the M2, smug faced and not worried about the MPG going down anytime soon! Highly Reccomend

There seems to be quite a lot of negative feeling about the Honda Insight not sure why? I purchased the car to avoid roadtax and enjoy better fuel economy, it does both functions extremely well and I am enjoying on average 20mpg more than my previous Honda accord its well built reliable cheap to service and well warranted.the car is quite on the motorway say up 80 and its sleek shape means wind noise is very low there is some tire noise but not to much seats are very comfortable and heated. my only complaint would be its a hard ride. diesels may be more economical but the fuel costs more and I wanted an auto so few choices when it comes to blumotions etc also the car was for the same year and mileage £5k less than a prius so I would have to do massive milage to justify the difference I would suggest car reviews should compare like for like when it comes to various models and factor in real costs vs economy and performance

I use the car fro long distance holidays as well as nipping to the shops. I cannot fault the car. Having had an Accord for 10 years and 125,000 on the clock. I know I wanted another Honda. Now retired and wanting something smaller and more economical I had a test drive in 3 before I settled on this one, an ex. demonstrator. Naturally it's lighter in weight and in build quality. However it is quiet, smooth and the acceleration is absolutely fine. In truth, I find the ride more comfortable that the accord which had 17" Alloys and low profile tyres. It can keep up with most cars on the motorway. '0' road tax and good mpg make it the ideal choice.

A good hybrid vehicle. It is cheap to own and has enough safety features to protect my young daughter. It is extremely quiet and has a high level of equipment.

This is my second insight. My last one did over 55,000 miles and I part exchanged it for a newer low mileage top of the range model. This latest model has all the usual goodies installed and up to now I have always found the Insight to be ideal for me. Very reliable, comfortable and ample room for four people. I am not a "performance" driver so my reasonably leisurely driving style seems to be ideally suited to the Insight. If you are not in a hurry to get anywhere I think this is a great car. Plus its tax free, reasonable cheap to insure, and fairly low on petrol consumption and with Honda reliability as another bonus.
