2022 BMW M8 Competition now on sale
Like the standard 8 Series, the BMW M8 has been updated inside and out
- Carbon seats available
- Bigger touchscreen
- Priced from £123,300
The BMW M8 flagship has been updated for 2022 with new interior trimmings and technology. It benefits from sportier seats and increased equipment to highlight its position at the very top of BMW’s line-up, and is on sale now.
A new front bumper is fitted, while darkened headlights are on offer for the first time. The styling changes are decidedly minor, but there are eight new body colours to pick from, including four frozen matte finishes. Like the regular BMW 8 Series, the M8 sits on 20-inch alloy wheels.

Carbon-fibre bucket seats should keep occupants in place better during fast corners, and the rest of the interior is trimmed in a mixture of Alcantara suede and Merino leather, providing a mix of sportiness and luxury. A new black and orange colour scheme is available for the upholstery.
The central touchscreen now measures 12.3 inches, up from 10.25 inches, and features BMW’s latest iDrive media system. This can be controlled by touch, scroll wheel, voice or gestures. Other equipment includes a digital dash, various driver-assistance features (including parking assistance) and a head-up display.
Ticking the M Pro Pack box adds carbon-ceramic brakes, gold brake calipers, a day’s training course on how to get the most out of your M8, and an increase in top speed to 190mph. Extra carbon-fibre trim pieces are available, along with laser headlights and an upgraded audio system.
Before options, the BMW M8 Competition Coupe costs £125,800, with the M8 Gran Coupe costing £2,500 less. The M8 Convertible starts at £132,800, making it the most expensive car BMW makes. Deliveries of the updated M8 range are due to start in a couple of months.
