Wanted a 4x4 as live in the country and needed a larger vehicle than my BMW Touring. Didn't have the cash for a BMW 4x4 so looked long and hard at the alternatives. Went for the CX7 and don't regret it one bit. 38mpg everyday is good for a big car, the 2.2 engine pulls as well as my old Xtype Jag 2.2, and handles well too. Bodywork is a little tinny/Japanesie but this you're not paying for a top end car here. Spec wise, you cannot beat this car. It has everything thrown in and all useful. I'm after a second car now, also a 4x4 and cannot bring myself to go for anything else other than a CX7 again, they are soo good.

Mazda cx7 diesel looks fab with 19'' alloys and sleek design. Performance and handling great for an suv. Standard kit is excellent, bose sound system better than at home. A very capable car, feels very safe to drive and passengers too. Q5 has edge but is 15k more if specced up to mazda's standard kit. Cx7 let down by co2 and mpg (38 is best can manage). Shame no tax-break for adbl;ue system. Tyres will be pricey too! However, overall, loved by all the family and envied by friends too! (let's hope cx5 not just a tarted up kuga)
