MINI launches Shadow Edition models across entire range

After the MINI Countryman SUV and MINI Clubman estate gained new Shadow Edition trim levels earlier this year, the specification has now been made available across the entire MINI range. That means the MINI hatchback, in both three- and five-door formats, plus the MINI Convertible and MINI Electric, are all now available to order in this trim level.

The MINI Shadow Edition starts from £22,340 for the three-door, or £23,040 for the five-door. A Convertible in this spec starts at £25,600, and an automatic gearbox is a £1,400 option across all three. Prices start at £28,755 and £26,805 for the Countryman and Clubman respectively.

MINI Countryman Boardwalk limited edition revealed

Marking out the Shadow Edition models is Midnight Black metallic paint with the roof and mirror caps painted in silver. There are special graphics on the bonnet, front wings and pillars, and much of the exterior trim pieces and roof rails are finished in black.

As the Shadow Edition is based on the Sport trim level, all petrol MINI hatchback and convertible variants get 18-inch John Cooper Works alloy wheels and a roof spoiler. The brand’s bigger models ride on 19-inch alloys also borrowed from the JCW department. Buyers of the MINI Electric Shadow Edition get 17-inch Tentacle Spoke wheels, plus black paint for the mirror caps and roof, rather than silver.

Inside is a similar story to the exterior, with black trim pieces and unique decals on the dash and tread plates. JCW sports seats and a sports steering wheel are fitted, and there’s contrasting red stitching.

The MINI Excitement and Navigation packs are included as standard, so the kit list includes an 8.8-inch touchscreen with sat nav and Apple CarPlay, LED mood lighting and MINI puddle lights. A digital instrument cluster, first shown in the MINI Electric, and rear parking sensors are also included. The Comfort, Comfort Plus and Navigation Plus packs are optional.

The Shadow Edition trim level is available on Cooper and Cooper S engines, and was previously offered on the Countryman plug-in hybrid.
