CarBuyer's most popular Facebook posts
Check out our most popular Facebook posts as part of our birthday celebrations
CarBuyer is three years old this week and to celebrate, we’re putting together a review of our most popular content over the past three years.
Today, we’re looking at our most popular Facebook posts – and the ones that generated the most likes, shares and comments among our 6,500 fans. Everything from tips and advice, car comparisons and even new car rumor stories have proved popular on social media – and we’ve compiled a run down for what you liked the most.
Before you read the list, though, make sure you follow us at www.facebook.com/carbuyeruk!
1. Petrol or diesel?
The question of whether to pick petrol or diesel when choosing your new car is a debate that has raged for years now – and our article clearly caused a stir when we posted it back in August. A whopping 482 of you interacted with it – making it our most popular Facebook post ever.
2. Mazda3 or Vauxhall Astra?
The upcoming Mazda3 has a fight on its hands. It is charging head-on into one of the most competitive niches in the UK car market – and you lot are clearly quite excited about it. Our post in generated 416 interactions – including likes, comments and shares – with the Mazda taking victory over the long-established Vauxhall Astra.
3. Honda Jazz Hybrid 2014
Earlier this week, we revealed the Honda Jazz review as our third most read review ever – and now the new car features as one of our most popular Facebook posts. It’s no surprise, really – the 2014 model is set to be more economical, more practical and arguably more stylish than the car it replaces.
4. Mazda3 2014
Our montage of Mazda3 pictures takes fourth place in our most popular Facebook posts ever. Seen first at the Frankfurt Motor Show, our roving reporters snapped the car in situ and revealed price, specs and engines for one of the most important cars of the year.
5. Peugeot 308 2014
Along with the new Mazda3, the revised Peugeot 308 rivals the brilliant VW Golf and fun Ford Focus. We revealed prices, specifications and release dates back in July this year, and 338 of you liked, shared and commented on it. Since then, we’ve driven the production-ready model and gave it 3.8 stars.
6. Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet video
Our video reviews are one of the most popular features on CarBuyer.co.uk, and Rebecca’s Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet aroused quite a reaction. Maybe it was the red roof, or the stylish interior? Guess we’ll never know…
7. Skoda Rapid Spaceback at the Frankfurt Motor Show
The Skoda Rapid Spaceback is a smaller, less practical version of the standard Skoda Rapid, but that didn’t stop 320 of you clicking, liking, sharing and commenting to express your views and opinions on Frankfurt Motor Show debut. So much so that it nabbed seventh place on our list.
8. Mazda3, Ford Focus or Volkswagen Golf?
Not content with just two spots on this list, the Mazda3 has found its way in for a third time. We compared the Mazda to its two main rivals – the Ford Focus and VW Golf – to see which you’d pick given the choice. The Golf was the winner here, but there were mentions for the Volvo V40, Toyota Auris and even the Nissan Leaf, too.
9. BMW CAT concept
The BMW Concept Active Tourer is only a concept car, but it could preview the new BMW 2 Series GT. The practical mini-MPV even has an attachable bike rack that swivels out into the boot area when the rear seats are folded flat. You clearly like the idea – more than 300 of you posted about it on Facebook.
10. Volvo Concept Coupe
Another concept car – this time from Volvo – drew plenty of attention around the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this year. Arguably the most desirable Volvo for decades, it generated nearly 300 likes, shares, comments and clicks after we posted a selection of pictures on Facebook.
Stay tuned this week for more popular content, including videos, reviews and best buys!
