Honda Civic saloon: price, specs and on-sale date
Four-door version of the Honda Civic arrives in August, priced from £19,395
The Honda Civic five-door hatchback will be joined by a four-door saloon version in August, with a choice of petrol or diesel power. Prices start at £19,395 for the 1.0-litre petrol SE.
The Honda Civic saloon is already on sale in certain international markets, including America. Built in Turkey, the car uses the same 127bhp 1.0-litre petrol and 118bhp 1.6-litre diesel engines as the 5-door Civic hatchback. There are manual and automatic gearbox options; petrol automatic models getting a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The saloon is longer than the standard hatchback and is likely to boast a larger boot, though an official measurement is yet to be released.

The fout-door Civic range opens with the SE, which includes Honda's 'Sensing' safety equipment package that includes autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition and active cruise control. SR models add rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control, a rear parking sensor and Honda's 'Connect' infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Range-topping EX models add leather upholstery, keyless entry and go, LED headlamps and foglights, heated rear seats and wireless phone charging.
Compact saloons have declined in popularity in recent years, so the Civic four-door has few direct rivals in the UK market. The Mazda3 Fastback is the only other saloon in its class, while the Audi A3 Saloon and Mercedes CLA are similarly sized models from the class above.
