Skoda Octavia vRS Challenge released in UK
Skoda has released a special edition trim of the Octavia vRS with more kit and performance upgrades
Skoda has launched a special edition trim level of the Octavia vRS called the Challenge. The Challenge model features extra equipment, design touches and performance parts, and becomes the top-of-the-range Octavia vRS.
Skoda has made a few subtle additions to the outside of the vRS to set the Challenge apart from the standard version. These include 19-inch black alloy wheels, black trim, door mirrors and vRS badging, and a sports exhaust.
The vRS Challenge comes with the same 242bhp 2.0-litre TSI engine as the standard car, giving it a 0-62mph time of 6.6 seconds. The car is offered with the same choice of a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
The Challenge trim level comes with a high level of equipment, building on what is already available on the standard vRS model. To enhance performance, a limited-slip differential amd dynamic chassis control, or DSS, have been added. The DSS system uses electrically regulated dampers and steering to improve handling, while the limited-slip differential increases grip in corners.
The interior of the vRS Challenge gets heated Alcantara sport seats with vRS badging, keyless entry and start, and a colour trip computer with lap timer. Shared with the standard vRS are a Amundsen sat nav, integrated Wi-Fi, an eight-inch touchscreen, LED interior pack and a vRS badged multi-function leather steering wheel. DSG models also come with shift paddles.
The Skoda Octavia vRS Challenge Edition is available to order now in hatchback and estate form, with a starting price of £30,085 for the hatch.
