Volkswagen Arteon range expands with new SE entry-level model
For 2019, a new base-specification SE model has been added to the VW Arteon model line-up. Prices start from £33,085
The 2019 Volkswagen Arteon range has gained a new entry-level SE trim level. The new specification sits beneath the existing Elegance and R-Line models with the whole line-up also gaining new technology and engine upgrades for this model year. The SE specification Arteons can be ordered now with prices starting from £33,085.
As standard, the exterior of the SE trim level has 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and front and rear parking sensors. Inside, the kit list includes an eight-inch infotainment screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity and three-zone climate control.

Buyers will be able to specify two engines on the Arteon SE. From launch, a four-cylinder 2.0-litre petrol engine will be offered with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This combination can return claimed fuel economy of 44.1mpg, with CO2 emissions of 144g/km.
For higher mileage drivers, a diesel engine will arrive in a few months. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit produces 148bhp and can be specced with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
While fuel economy figures for the diesel engine have yet to be announced, VW has revealed that it will feature Active Cylinder technology that shuts down two of the engine’s four cylinders at lower speeds to help conserve fuel. There are also improvements elsewhere in the Arteon’s engine range that lower emissions levels.
