2019 Hyundai Kona Play trim level revealed
The Hyundai Kona Play starts from £18,355 and is available to order now
A new trim level for the Hyundai Kona SUV has been revealed. The Play model is based on the existing SE trim, adding extra features but costing £250 less. Hyundai has released the new trim level on the Kona after its introduction on the i10 and i20 superminis. Kona Play models are available to order now, starting at £18,355.
The Kona Play features 18-inch alloy wheels, tinted rear windows and metallic or pearl-effect paint. There are seven paint colours available, which would normally cost £565 extra.
As it’s based on the SE version, the Play model comes with cruise control, Bluetooth, rear parking sensors, leather interior touchpoints and a space-saver spare wheel as standard. There’s also air conditioning, LED daytime running lights and all-round electric windows.
A seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system is included, with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a reversing camera. The car comes with plenty of safety equipment, including lane-keeping assistance, driver attention alert, hill-start assist and downhill brake control.
Just one engine is available on the Play; Hyundai’s three-cylinder 118bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine. It’s the entry engine in the Kona range and comes with a five-speed manual gearbox only.
The Play sits in the middle of the Kona line-up - the S and SE are below, while Premium, Premium SE and Premium GT are available at the top of the range.
