Limited-run Ford Fiesta ST Edition sprints in
New Fiesta ST Edition has adjustable suspension and is aimed at enthusiasts
- 300 examples for the UK
- Model-specific styling tweaks
- Priced at £27,075
The new Ford Fiesta ST Edition is on sale now with a price tag of £27,075. It’s a tweaked version of the standard ST, which already sits at the top of our best hot hatchbacks list.
Manually adjustable suspension and a lower ride height are two of the main changes for the Edition model. Only 500 are to be built in total, with 300 of those heading to the UK. Each one is a three-door car painted in an exclusive Azura Blue shade, which has only been offered before as part of the brand’s Special Vehicle Options range.
The blue paint is joined by gloss black detailing on the grille, door mirrors and fog lamp surrounds, while the spoiler, roof and lightweight wheels are black too. Even the ST badges get black edging.
Inside, there’s carbon fibre-effect trim around the instrument cluster and dashboard areas, while blue stitching is used extensively. A new steering wheel, trimmed in leather, features a shortcut to the Sport driving mode, and a red illuminated starter button is positioned nearby.
The car sits on adjustable Ford Performance suspension that features coilovers. You can play with 12 bump settings (how far the damper moves up when you hit an imperfection in the road) and 16 rebound settings (how quickly it returns to position). The coilovers are finished in Ford Performance Blue and allow the car to sit 15mm lower at the front and 10mm lower at the rear.
The ST Edition also gets exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels that are said to be 2kg lighter than the standard ones. There’s also a Quaife limited-slip differential and Torque Vectoring Control to deliver the maximum possible grip when cornering.
With the engine unchanged, you still get 197bhp, a 6.5-second 0-62mph time and a 143mph top speed. When driven carefully, the car can manage 42.8mpg.
It seems the car is very similar to the Ford Fiesta ST Performance Edition, a bright orange 600-example special-edition model sold in 2019 - so if you missed out on that car, the ST Edition may be top of your wishlist.
