New Skoda Superb SportLine joins the range with sportier looks and £42k starting price

The Skoda Superb gets a sporty visual upgrade, available as a saloon or an estate

  • New Superb SportLine goes on sale
  • Available as a saloon or estate
  • Prices start from £42,290

The Skoda Superb SportLine has just landed in showrooms, bringing a bit of sporty flair to the family saloon. It was revealed last summer, but only now has Skoda confirmed pricing – it starts from £42,290, placing it neatly between the Superb SE L and range-topping L&K model.

The SportLine badge is used across the Skoda range, with similar styling enhancements for the EnyaqElroqKodiaqKaroq and Octavia. You don’t get any performance upgrades – that’s usually reserved for Skoda’s vRS models – but the Superb SportLine gets a couple of chassis tweaks to sharpen up its handling. The SportLine trim level is available for both the Superb Saloon and our Carbuyer Best Estate Car of 2025, the Superb Estate.

What upgrades does the Superb SportLine get?

Skoda’s SportLine range has been around for a while now, giving buyers the sporty looks of its vRS performance models but without the extra oomph. But your extra cash goes towards the unique exterior styling details and some interior upgrades.

You won’t find any chrome on the outside of the Superb SportLine – everything has been swapped for gloss black, including the grille, window trims and bumper details. The estate version gets some gloss black roof rails, too. The wheels are new, measuring 19 inches and painted in matching gloss black. Skoda has even gone as far as to swap the badging on the back of the Superb SportLine with new gloss black replacements.

Inside, you get a unique upholstery ‘Design Selection’ exclusive to the SportLine. This includes sports seats up front, which are heated and have a massaging function. You also get black headlining, a leather steering wheel and some aluminium pedal covers.

Nothing has changed under the bonnet, but that means there are six different engine options to choose from. There’s practically every type of engine you could wish for, from a mild hybrid petrol to a 190bhp diesel with four-wheel drive. The Superb Estate can be had with a plug-in hybrid engine, delivering 201bhp and up to 79 miles of electronic-only range. For the most performance, you’ll want the 261bhp four-wheel drive petrol engine – this can accelerate from 0-62mph quicker than a VW Golf GTI. As with every Superb model, a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox is fitted as standard.

Where the Superb SportLine differs from other Superbs is its suspension. It has a “special sports chassis” according to Skoda, which sits 15mm lower than other Superb models. Skoda has also thrown in its Progressive Steering system and Dynamic Chassis Control Plus, which lets you adjust the suspension through the infotainment system.

How much does the Superb SportLine cost?

The Superb SportLine is on sale now, costing from £42,290. That gets you the Superb SportLine saloon with the 1.5-litre mild hybrid petrol engine – upgrading to the estate version adds £1,300 across the board.

The cheapest diesel model is the 2.0-litre TDI with 148bhp, costing £42,465. Top of the range is the Superb Estate SportLine with the iV plug-in hybrid engine at £48,060, although this will probably be the most affordable model for business drivers thanks to the UK’s emissions-based Benefit-in-Kind tax system.
