Renault Captur 2013 price announced

Prices for the new Clio-based Renault Captur will start at £12,495 from July.

Prices for the all-new Renault Captur have been announced, ahead of the car’s on-sale date later this year.

The Clio-based SUV will start at £12,495 in entry-level Expression spec, fitted with the 0.9-litre TCe turbocharged petrol engine. The engine emits only 115g/km of CO2 and should be capable of more than 50mpg. All cars get 16-inch alloy wheels, split-fold and sliding rear seats, electric windows and cruise control. Body-coloured bumpers, hill start assist and a trip computer are also included, while the 1.5-litre dCi diesel commands £1,400 premium across the range.

Upgrade to Expression+ specification and you get front fog-lights, auto lights and wipers and climate control. The Expression+ TCe costs from £14,495.

Dynamique Media Nav models are priced from £14,995 and are expected to be the UK’s bestseller. These get chrome trim, removable seat covers, Bluetooth and USB connectivity as well as a Navteq Nav ’n’ Go satellite navigation system. Top-spec Dynamique S Media Nav cars cost from £16,495 and include 17-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and heated front seats.

Both the Dynamique models are also available with a 1.2-litre TCe petrol engine, which is faster and more powerful than the entry-level 0.9 TCe. It is only available with an automatic gearbox and costs £17,195 or £18,695 for the Dynamique and Dynamique S, respectively. Various design packs are available at extra cost to alter the style and look of your Captur both inside and out.

Following the new Clio’s scope for personalisation, the Renault Captur comes with a selection of optional extras, including a reversing camera, metallic paint and the company’s innovative R-Link system, which allows you to connect and control your mobile devices via a seven-inch screen on the dashboard.

The quirky crossover is set to rival the Vauxhall Mokka and Dacia Duster, yet undercuts the £12,995 Nissan Juke by £500. It features a similar equipment list, but the Nissan comes with a slightly more powerful but less economical 1.6-litre engine, which does 45mpg and emits 139g/km of CO2.

The Renault Captur is available to order from 1 May, with the first showroom cars available to view from 1 July onwards.
