THE new Honda Civic 1.6 i-DTEC has just been announced, featuring an engine capable of 78.5mpg.
The main highlight of this model is its new 1.6-litre diesel engine, which produces a respectable 118bhp and is linked to a six-speed manual gearbox. It's been developed exclusively for Europe, and is set to be built in the UK.
The Civic is expected to return 78.5mpg and will emit only 94g/km of CO2. As a result, the car is exempt from road tax or the London Congestion Charge.
Honda hopes that the new model will grab the attention of company car buyers and fleet managers.
Three different versions are available for buyers in the UK – the SE, ES, and EX. The range-topping EX includes front and rear parking sensors, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and a DAB digital radio.
It'll arrive in dealerships early next year, priced at £19,400 for the SE, £20,595 for the ES and £23,175 for the EX.
