Jeep SRT-8 Grand Cherokee muscles into Frankfurt
American maker Jeep has confirmed the SRT-8 Grand Cherokee high-performance SUV will feature at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Jeep has announced details of its high-performance SRT-8 Grand Cherokee, ahead of its unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Coming to the UK in right-hand drive, the SRT-8 will be marked out by a lowered ride height, LED daytime running lamps and more aggressive SRT styling with a sculpted bonnet. The rear will sport a new spoiler and air diffuser to finish the sporting look.
Featuring a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 under the bonnet, performance will be very strong. With 464bhp, 0-62mph will take just 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 158mph. Compared to the previous model fuel economy has also been improved by 12 per cent – to just under 20mpg combined.
The SRT-8 will go on sale across Europe early next year, priced around £50,000. It will be sold in one trim level, with a high standard specification. Equipment will include sat-nav, a twin sunroof, adaptive cruise control and active dampers. Sports leather seats will also feature, while SRT-8 badging will mark it apart from lesser models in the range.
