There’ll be a choice of two petrol engines – a 1.4-litre turbo and a 1.6-litre non-turbo, plus a 1.7-litre turbodiesel. The turbo engines also come with all-wheel drive and are available with a six-speed automatic gearbox. Six airbags are dotted around the interior, while electronic stability control, hill start assist, traction control, ABS and electronic brake distribution come as standard, with trailer stability assist and hill descent control added as standard on higher specs.
The Trax has a 358-litre boot, lots of storage cubbies and extra space under the cargo floor, while the rear seats split 60/40 and the front passenger seat can be folded flat. The seats can be arranged into eight different combinations.
Chevrolet’s info and entertainment system MyLink will be available in higher-spec versions as standard. MyLink can be synched with smartphones via a downloadable navigation app that will show the app’s calculated route on the car’s touchscreen.
