The Suzuki Jimny small SUV has been given an updated interior and exterior for the 2013 model year, and is on sale now.
On the outside, the 2013 Jimny has a new front bumper, which features repositioned front foglights and protrudes a little further forward than on the car it replaces – taking the Jimny’s overall length up by 30mm, to 3,675mm. The new Jimny also receives a new front grille design and bonnet, which now incorporates a central air intake.
The new Jimny is available in two different specifications. The entry-level SZ3 model gets a new fabric seat trim, while both the Jimny SZ3 and SZ4 models feature a new design of front and rear headrests, and the rear seats now incorporate ISOFIX child-seat mountings.
Suzuki has added Breeze Blue to the list of four optional metallic paint colours for the SZ4 model, while the SZ3 is available with a choice of the remaining three metallic paint finishes, or one solid one. Metallic paint is a £399 option on all models.
All Suzuki Jimnys are powered by a 1.3-litre petrol engine, which develops 84bhp. All cars are four-wheel drive, and there is a choice of manual or automatic gearboxes, the former returning 39.8mpg and the latter 38.7mpg. CO2 emissions are 162g/km and 167g/km respectively.
More than 20,000 Suzuki Jimnys have been sold in the UK, but that’s a fraction of the 2.6 million examples of Suzuki’s compact SUV that have been sold across the world so far. Suzuki has been selling compact SUVs for the past 43 years.
