Update of my previous review. I had issue with hybrid drive system and the dealer was unable to fix it in last two months and number of visits. Basically the car is carrying 300kg of dead weight (battery/electric motor) and fuel consumption is going south. Since the car's issue is with high power electrics, only certain enginer/technician is allowed to work on it and I had delays with appointments. Also in the last couple of visit, the master technician was unable to establish the cause of the problem and he ends up ordering parts and change them. To date, I am asked to bring the car in when a new part arrives and have it replaced again. It does not give me confidence.
Also the main dealer cannot provide a automatic replacement at all. In general, with last couple cars I had (Merc/VW), I had no issue getting an automatic replacement from main dealer since I don't drive manual. Not with Peugeot, not even after I raised it to Peugeot customer service UK. Very very annoying as each time I bring the car in I have to stay at the dealer for half a day.
All in all I had some really bad/off putting experience and please consider above information I have mentioned before buying the 508 RXH.

Wanted a change from usual German saloons and bought myself a 508 RXH. Very nice looking car, both my wife and son are impressed with the look and interior. Sunroof is certainly a plus point of this car and it brings a light and spacious feeling. Lots of toys on offer, I am particularly impressed by seat massage and smart head light. Ride is on the firm side but not uncomfortable. Car has enough power but gearbox is on the slow side and unless it is in sport mode, getting it off traffic line can feel slow. That to be said, you will have no issues overtaking as pulling power between 30-70 mph is very impressive. There is enough space in the car for 4 adults and 1 child and camping gears. Roof rails are an added bonus.
I did have some issues with car's build quality. First part of centre console was broken (cheap plastic?) and has to be changed; then Sat-nav stopped working. All done under warranty and I am pleasantly surprised by Peugeot's customer service.

Purchased the car used at half the list price, depreciation value could be a concern however. For a car that was no more expensive to me than a Ford Mondeo it's a steal.
Like other users I cannot replicate the 70mpg stated and average between 50>55mpg per tank (I have achieved 61.3mpg on a run from Falkirk to Oban - approx 100 miles). The car is effortless to drive and I have had no concerns with reliability. The spec is fairly high, with electric/heated seats, half leather interior, automatic wipers, automatic lights, panoramic full length glass roof with electric blind, sat nav, bluetooth, USB/3.5mm Jack connection (which works flawlessly with my iPod) and Spotify streams without issue via Bluetooth from my mobile, The stereo has a 500w amp as standard. My only gripe is that the car is prone to car park dents/dings as it is fairly wide and has no buffer strips on the doors (but this ain't the car's fault its other road users.)
Where else can you get a 4x4 car with 200BHP that gives 50+MPG and pay only £10 annual road tax, insurance is also fairly low. What's not to like!

I was very pleased with all aspects of this car until recently. At 49,000 miles (mainly motorway) an oil leak appeared. this was diagnosed as failure of main bearing oil seal, the flywheel had to be replaced and it needed a new clutch. Well over £2k worth of work - Peugeot contributed 50%, but I would have expected more given that these components should be good for 100k miles.

To start off with this vehicle was purchased to meet a set criteria. (The safe transportation of Grandchildren and the family dogs by an economical vehicle with plenty of room) The car in question was parked outside a Lexus dealership and my wife and I could not decide what make of car it was so further investigation was required. Under close investigation it turned out to be a Peugeot which we had never owned. Did it look like a Peugeot from the outside (No) did it look like one from the inside (No) it looks like a high end manufacture so a Google search was required.
This car was developed to go against AUDI as its main competitor so thats why it does not look like a Peugeot. Its a fantastic car with great tech and an exceedingly good safety rating of 5. It has an average fuel economy of just under 50 MPG which is fantastic considering that this covers all types of driving and all road types. If you set the cruise control to 50 within the Motorway roadworks and she will indicate 75 MPG on the flat. Overall I have not found a better car to meet our particular requirements. Point to note that this car can be very rapid indeed - to do that you need to move the file next to the auto drive control to Sport mode which provides the car with a very different mapping configuration for quick exits from junctions and overtaking manoeuvres at speed.
When the car changes to electric only mode the world changes around you. You instantly de-stress and enjoy your drive in what is a very good interior layout. Long journeys are a complete breeze with this car. Highly recommended if you purchase second hand as we did. PS ALL new cars with Hybrid systems require trained personnel to undertake the work and by reviewing other Hybrid vehicles all the manufactures are having similar problems which I must say are usually down to not reading the manual. These cars are very clever indeed. The difference with this one is that the electric drive is linked to a very clean diesel engine.
