£20 a year tax, group 9 insurance and 60MPG and it's the only 7-seater that can be anywhere near this cheap to run. This car is shorter and narrower than a Ford Focus, yet it feels so much bigger. The two rearmost seats are more for occasional use for adults, but shorter adults and kids should have no problems. The car is relaxing to drive, you have great all round visibility in a bright and airy cabin. The rear view mirrors are more like the ones you find on vans meaning you can see your rear wheels and the road behind you making it easy to park without adjusting them. The engine is smooth and predictable with plenty of torque. The steering is quite eager which means it only takes a small amount of movement of the steering wheel for significant changes in direction. This makes city driving a breeze and makes the car feel nimble and responsive. The ride is quite the opposite, the comfort is brilliant and you feel that overall this car is built for getting you from A to B with a smile on your face. Don't listen to the experts that list its 'distinctive looks' as a disadvantage, or the fact that it doesn't have a 'sporty ride'. It's a cool and comfortable car that oozes practicality and will leave you with a smile on your face and more money in your pocket.

Once again all official reviews on this car totally underestimate its appeal, without naming other MPVs that are really boring inside and out Fiat have come up with a car that will make you smile because it dares to be a bit different. It's not a high end brand and its not trying to be but it has most of the tech they have plus a bit of Italian style. Its really has loads of space and the 1.3 diesel version is really economical. You wont be able race off from the lights in the 1.3 but it cruses along nicely at 70mph. Theses are great fun cars in a market sector of boring boxes on wheels. I would recommend this car especially the diesels as they have a bit more power.

Although ours is used for short trips (Yes, I know the dreaded DPF problems), we have used our 500X on numerous 400 mile plus long trips. The Dualogic automatic has proven very good, although sometimes a bit hesitant at roundabouts. Our Trekking model handles very well and the load capacity is okay but not brilliant with the rear seats folded. A comfortable ride and the cruise control makes long motorway trips very easy. Economy is also very good - and one a trip to London - we got almost 60mpg.
