Big practical car but poor ride no electric mirrors, uncomfortable noisy. Worst buy ever.

Purchased the 5 years old vehicle but with only 26000 miles on the clock for high mileage business use. Assumed being of commercial vehicle pedigree that it would go on for years. The offside rear doors do not open, the front suspension makes horrible knocking noises sometimes when going over bumps & even cat eyes, but the biggest affront at just 57,000 miles is the gearbox, clutch & dual mass flywheel - they all needed attention. Poor initial gearbox design in my opinion because Fiat have subsequently changed the design & as a result more replacement parts have had to be purchased. Four syncros went - tabs simply broke off! £2000 repair bill. I do not wear out clutches & gearboxes - my (old) spare vehicle, a year younger, has done 160000 miles & is still on the original clutch. I've also broken two throttles but in defence, I do have very strong (cycling) legs. Now I always carry a spare throttle with me. My local garage has also strengthened the present one. Very tedious also getting in touch with my local Fiat dealer down the road in Weston.

Not very impressed with the mark 3 model, poor build quality, had lots of problems with braking ,had lots of gearbox problems too . Sad too say Fiat dealerships aftersales is very bad and it seems they just don't care about fixing issues with the car. I have now reached the point of parting with the car after one year. Loads of room in the vehicle, very practical, its a shame - put off Fiat for life now.

The car has proved comfortable and reliable and economical too,and i would recommend it to anyone, and frequently do! The car has a huge load capacity and shrugs off long journeys with ease. It does exactly what it says on the tin!

One of my best-ever buys . It has the power (jtd 1.9) to accelerate past slow stuff on country roads , sails up hills , and i never need to go more than 100mph .The Key factor in the original purchase was the amount of space - huge ; we go on self-catering holidays , with dog , and everything fits in fine ; i've shifted countless tons of cement , sand , paving slabs , concrete blocks etc . , and all sort of large furniture/diy items , whilst working on house and garden - all easily unloaded from the level floor ; obviously masses of room for shopping /golf clubs/bike etc. .It's Very light and airy inside , and once having tried it i love the elevated driving position ; i like the precise steering too . For me , with some back trouble , it's more comfortable to drive than an ordinary car . It would be an absolutely ideal family car for anyone interested in practicality and not obsessed with looks (though it's not ugly) .

Too much goes wrong. I have had more problems in four years than 13 years of my previous Toyota, which never ever had an unplanned stoppage and not much went wrong ever. Replacement coils springs, accelerator pedal, not firing on all cylinders. A catalogue of problems. And do not get me started on Fiat maintenance, they never seem to be able to get the right parts, or have the appointment booked in properly. Heating does not work from cold, so blows freezing air all over you. Changing gear is not very smooth. Acceleration - forget it, and hill starts = nervous breakdown time. And the headlights keep failing, have to carry spares all the time. The driving seat is reasonably comfortable though. Hoping soon to have enough money to get something more reliable.

Comfort. Fairly good. Ride quality. Compared to my old MPV, good. The Doblo suspension has a softer feel than my previous MPV. The suspension is very low for a vehicle of this class. Reliability. Very poor. I am sorry I wasted money buying this vehicle. After sales service. Extremely bad. Fiat would do well to invest in a training program for their sales and service staff. The mechanic that was supposed to service mine seemed to think that by resetting the computer, the problem would be fixed. All thought of old-fashioned work seem to have been lost. After 50 000 miles the car had to have the bushes on the suspension replaced twice. It has continual electric problems, associated with the computer. A nice car, but let down by the after sales staff, the origin of all the problems.

My fiat doblo is a hugely practical car, and doesn't feel like the van it's based on (apart from the stiff ride, but it can carry 750kgs). It has never let me down and has excellent build quality and handling for such a utilitarian vehicle. The driving position is excellent, you have a commanding view of the road, which makes it very easy to position and park. Downside is a thick a pillar, which can obstruct your view sometimes. Bad points: some of the plastics look cheap and scratches easily, a couple of silly little electrical faults and ride quality is poor. The vehicle has never failed to proceed.

Bought as a 'stopgap' as girlfriend's car too small and trusty but ancient Discovery needing mid-life overhaul . . . It has colossal carrying capacity and is capable of almost a thousand miles on a single tankful of diesel given smooth and careful driving. I have come to love it almost as much as my ancient Discovery. It is probably underpowered for most but I drive at truck speeds on regular long journeys and can complete a thousand-mile round trip and don't feel knackered. The driving position is high and comfortable for me and, apart from the lack of air conditioning, comfort levels generally are high. Noise is better than my mother's Peugeot and the Fiat sound system is good for a van derivative. For anyone who wants to make steady progress especially carrying five people and a lot of stuff this is a good option. The post-facelift Doblos appear to have better quality interiors too with few rattles and squeaks, those that they are are usually CD cases rattling or other human created sounds! The small diesel also has a timing chain so no crippling bills for cambelt changes or failures!

Bought this as we have dogs, often carrying furniture and rubbish to the dump. We have owned this car now for nearly 10 years as we bought just before Xmas 03 but received it in early 04. In all that time we have only had to replace wear and tear parts with the exception of a sensor. However, we have had to replace the clutch this week. The only other thing is the back window heater no longer works, which is annoying but probably wear and tear with the opening and closing of the back door. All in all I can't complain about this car we have owned many different makes and models cars. Before we bought this we would not have touched a Fiat but we hired a car that was a new Punto and we were impressed, so Fiat became a consideration and as it turns out, after 10 years motoring, it is probably the best car we have ever owned.

After returning from holiday and picking my car up from a airport parking company, my car refused to start. Which meant I had to get my car towed home with it being a Sunday. I then had it taken to the local main Fiat garage where they diagnosed it to be a faulty fuel pump apparently this seems to be a fault with certain Fiat models which are left or not run for more than a week. I am at the moment booked in to have a fault diagnosed because the car feels as though it is missing whilst cruising along in either 4/5 or 6th gear with either cruise control on or off.
