Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV (2005-2011)
"Good to look at and competent off-road, the Jeep Grand Cherokee also offers reasonable value for money and is a great choice for anyone looking for a serious 4x4."
Pros
- Competent off road
- Spacious versatile boot
- Competitively priced
Cons
- Stiff suspension
- Comparatively cramped interior, no seven seat version
- Cumbersome handling
Like Land Rover, there are few more famous 4x4s than those built by Jeep. The Grand Cherokee is the largest car the American based firm currently makes. This version, which will be replaced by an all new car in Summer 2011, offers seating for five and a spacious and versatile boot. It's a competent off roader, but can't match the performance of newer rivals like the Mercedes-Benz ML class, or the Land Rover Discovery 4 on the road. These two models are both more comfortable and more luxurious.
