I have experienced absolutely terrible build quality and diabolical customer service after buying my Evoque new 16 months ago. So far I've endured the following: 1) Coolant light low warning light fault - coolant levels being declared as fine by Land Rover assistance yet warning message triggered. 2) Car alarm going off repeatedly due to bonnet being open yet the bonnet wasn't open at all. 3) Auto tailgate fault - whenever it rained the car beeped (alarm) as it believed someone was trying to open it without the key 4) Repeat visits to dealership to top up DEF fluid. I wasn't informed when buying the diesel vehicle that I'd need to make repeat visits to the service team to get the DEF fluid added. Super inconvenient! 5) When buying the car I opted for the upgrade to the 'professional' sat nav. As luck would have it the 'professional' sat nav decides to instruct me to go around roundabouts when flyovers are clear, to drive around my local supermarket car park instead of driving straight home and frequently tells me to take routes that it declares are the quickest when they take me 15+ minutes longer than they should. I returned the car to LR to look into this and was reliably informed that sat navs "tend to do this" and following a reset that they'd done the sat nav is fixed. Firstly I've had the pleasure of both Audi and Mercedes vehicles with factory fitted sat navs and NONE of them have a ever done this. Better still it hasn't been fixed at all and still can't be trusted to get me to my destination without an unnecessary detour. Requested a fix/refund and had no success as yet. 6) Service warning light fault - triggered far too early caused by yet another electrical fault. 2 entire wasted journeys. 7) Car was 'road tested' by local LR retailer returned to me with just 3% diesel in the tank and after checking the Land Rover remote app discovered that the team had driven to KFC. 8) The seal on my windscreen failed. My leather seats were soaked through, the facias are wet, gear knob in a puddle of water and the dashboard/steering wheel has rain spattered over it too. I was informed by LR customer care team that "this is what a warranty is for". Not when you consider that RR is a premium brand with supposed premium build quality. Disgraceful!! The only team that have been brilliant are the Land Rover assistance team - offering a genuinely great customer experience. I'm selling my Evoque within the next 6 months. I've had enough and will NEVER consider Land Rover / Range Rover EVER again when buying a car.

Had the car around 3 months now and I must say it's RUBBISH, the cars are no way worth the money with the issues you get. Issues from day 1 - water hose broke off, replaced steering wheel, rear tailgate issues, replaced rear camera, replaced gear shift, rattles in the doors, bonnet vents keep popping off, dashboard rattles, smells of burning plastic, paint work seriously marked under the top coat, engine rattle when pushed, jurky auto gearbox, squeaky brakes and the list will still go on. I have raised all issue with Land rover and awaiting the outcome. Must say the car looks amazing but are the looks worth the hassle NO!

This was a really nice car until it went on fire at Edinburgh airport while we were on holiday. There have been a lot of reported incidents with Evoque fires. JLR really need to investigate this. My wife won't even park beside an Evoque now in case it goes up in flames. JLR have had a recall for fire risk which our car had been through but obviously has not sorted the problem. Please be warned these are dangerous!

This is the sixth RR I have owned! I know I'm a sucker because they have all been rubbish, I have decided to wean myself off the habit of buying they because I am just so fed up with the unreliability of the vehicles! this latest one has been as bad! the electrics and battery are so bad! you're constantly getting error messages on the instrument panel, that turn out to be red herrings, frustrating, the paint burnt off the brake callipers on this one , RR said it was caused by the cleaning materials being used, I clean by hand!! With a brush, they have an rubbish excuses for everything, this ones locked me out, refusing even the best safe cracking skills, I had to resort to breaking and entering, stranded me at an airport in the middle of the night, opened all it's own windows one night on the drive, incidentally this is not the first LR where this has happened to me, it so happened it rained all night and flooded the car! Amazingly the alarm didn't go off, very secure for £47K vehicle on drive, the rear seats fell to bits! and to cap it off I got a valuation to sell in Feb 2013 from Dealers, £39K couldn't sell to any mug, 6 month later got new valuation £32kK if I brought a Merc, snatched the blighters hand off!!!

Beautiful car but it's back at the garage every 6 weeks. It's had issues with smart key leading to new keys then new reader. Then a new valve followed by problems with gear box with it sticking in third. Very slow to pull away at roundabouts etc. The worst aspect is the mpg. Shocking. 25-26mpg round town, 31mpg at best on longer journeys.

Had since new - 9 months - 2.2 ed4 - and been totally reliable. Great to drive and very comfortable on long trips. Quoted as 57mpg but the best I've had is 54 which I think is very good. No car will get the quoted figure. If I drive to work though the city then I get about 43 but on the motorway at 70 I will get 51mpg. Above this say at 80 it will drop to 41 so I average around 47 which I am happy about. I must say I drive a bit sedately too. The only problem I do get is rattle trim but LR are very good at fixing but these are minor issues in the scheme of things. Very impressed -WOULD RECOMMEND

I lLove this car. It’s stylish, compact, comfortable and extremely relaxing to drive. Firstly, the engine is both pokey and gutsy. Although there is too much turbo lag when pulling away, once going, the auto box is amazingly smooth, and journeys are a thing of joy. The dynamic setting makes the car firm when it’s needed, and responsive when it’s cruising. The info and entertainment are first class and the ride and seats make all journeys a thing of pleasure. The vision and ride position are great too; perfect view of the road without being too imposing. The panoramic roof makes the cabin light and airy, whilst the cameras and auto parking help to make city manoeuvrability so simple. The fuel consumption is what you’d expect from a heavy automatic 4x4; so if you want low running costs, buy elsewhere. What this is is the best combination of utility and luxury you can get, whilst still keeping urban street style without sacrificing all terrain capability. Which other offers that? As my wife says, this is the perfect car for arriving anywhere in your stilettos and look perfectly in place.

I have a Range Rover Evoque which I bought new in Jan 2016. The first issue I had was when the exhaust started rattling & had to be welded (just a few weeks after purchasing), then a bearing had to be replaced some weeks later, then the rear brakes started acting up and had to be replaced. This was followed by the Stop/Start switch which failed and was replaced, then a hose had to be replaced. Just when I thought the vehicle was settling down, the EGR Valve, EGR Cooler and DPF Filter failed and had to be replaced. Then both the ENGINE & turbo had to be replaced and when all that was done, the vehicle broke down three times in one weekend, apparently due to a loose connection to the battery. That's my life with a Range Rover Evoque; all this happened within 35,000 miles on the clock. I cant take it on a long journey as I don't know whats going to happen next ! I'm awfully disappointed with Jaguar Land Rover Ireland on the whole affair . Never Again

Have this as a company car. Styling and looks are great however fuel economy is very poor at 34mpg. Although it has never actually broken down I have had numerous issues and faults with it ranging from air con breaking, which took over 6 weeks to get fixed, to alarm issues and strange noises that have never been rectified. I must have had over 20 company cars in my time and this is by far the worst for problems and faults. It a shame that as much effort didn't go into the build quality as the design.

We have always owned land rovers, but this will be our last. Our car has a major flaw with its fuel system. It has broken down five times in the last 12 months. It has had the fuel pump replaced. Countless software upgrades and various other things tried. The problem is that once the fuel reaches between half and a quarter of a tank it breaks down going up or down a hill. The distance to empty is reading well over 100km so it hasn't run out of fuel. Land rover are getting error messages but none that are of any good. The customer service rep assigned to us in the past was rude, arrogant and a complete waste of time, so now we don't bother. As I write this my husband is waiting for the tow truck yet again. The car is so unreliable we are thinking about invoking the lemon law. It's a shame as we have always been loyal to land rover.

I've had my Evoque for 6 months so this review is a summary of my experience Positives During the winter the car was excellent coping with snow, flooded roads and muddy tracks with ease. Unlike some owners I do a mix of motorway and light offroad (tracks) and to this end the Evoque is well suited to me. On the road the car is quiet and well composed. Decent to drive Stereo system is excellent. Negatives Rattles - my car has a few and despite numerous attempts to fix these remain. I'm particularly disappointed by rear d pillar rattles, door and dashboard rattles. Dealer seems unable to fix. The rear d pillar rattle has been finally fixed but by myself and lots of foam. This is not what I expected from a luxury car.

Now in third month of ownership and very pleased with the overall car. I bought mine as a nearly 3-year-old car which had only done 14,300 miles. The car still drives as new and have managed to squeeze over 40 miles per gallon on the trip computer readout for first 2,700 miles, on a combination of short and long distance trips. Admittedly I try to drive as economically as possible and resist the temptation to accelerate to its full potential (sometimes not easy when being tailgated by 'boy racers' coming off roundabouts!). I am certain if I were to drive it harder, the economy would fall to the low thirties but what's the point in that? My main wish would be for a slightly larger boot space but I knew that before I bought it!

Replacement discs twice. I've not had the use of this car for seven weeks . There is sum good news the thing has been back so many times. I've never had to clean it. I've not seen the car for three weeks as it's still in the Dealer undergoing repair.

Although not without its niggles this is a fantastic car to drive. There is room for four average height adults but you would need a roof box to take the luggage for all but a long weekend. For two people and a small family its ideal. The smoothness of ride and the comfort over long distances is excellent. If I am driving on my own and not with my colleagues I can regularly achieve high 40s mpg to low 50s. But usually there are three of us travelling in so mpg is around 42. Rough roads are not an issue to the comfort of this vehicle nor is the snow which arrived in January. The niggles were a squeaky seat. Noisy brakes and a rather unfortunate software upgrade which turned the bluetooth and sat nav into the version found in a Discovery Sport. All now fixed although the sat nav took a few visits.

I am well pleased with this Pure Tech version. The 9 speed gear has smoothed out the driving and on a motorway run averaging a speed of 68mph I can comfortably get 40mph from the car. I am male and am no virgin to car driving experience. On a scale to 10 I would not hesitate awarding 8.

Eighteen months into ownership the car still makes me smile. The build quality is good with no problems to report. The MPG is about 28 around town and 35 on the motorway. Not great but it's a heavy car and so is my right foot! This car drinks fuel if you give it wellie, but decent economy is achievable if a light right foot is adopted. The sound system is good but radio reception disappointing. After 18,000 miles the tyres have hardly been worn. It's very comfortable with a commanding driving position. There is very little (if any) body roll and the seats cosset you anyway. The fixed price service pack is well worth the price . Would I buy another? 'Yes'. Is it 'perfect? 'No'. But as I said to start, it still makes me smile. No other car I've had has achieved that!

Reliability excellent - no issues in 25k miles, panoramic glass roof superb. Just lacks a V6 engine to compete with the performance of a Porsche Macan.

I just had a Freelander for 18months before I got his Evoque. I was amazed by the quality, build and capability of the FL2, given what people say about LR. Both cars have been faultless. The Evoque has done 20k in just over a year and the ride has slightly softened which is now very cushioned and feel more luxurious than at the outset.. The cabin has the softest leather (the light cream colours are always softer than the blacks and always look so good). The engine is fine and quick, it could sound a little nicer when stretched I suppose. I can get up to 43mpg when on a long trip down the A1 but that is holding the speed around the mid 60's mostly, it's fast enough for me. It still turns heads, I'll return to the car and see people looking inside. I think the style inspires imagination, here in the UK, people seem genuinely proud that it's British design and execution, LR is on a rapid ascent. It is interesting how vulgar and harsh comparable offerings look along side it .. X3/Q3 etc and note how many manufacturers are adding Evoque touches to catch up. It's a success and a pleasure to own.

Have owned this car for just over a year from new. Lots of postives - interior is good quality, nice sound system, drives well (now). However .... When new, gear change was very delayed on pull away. We reported this but where told it was normal with automatics (our previous car was not like this?). When car was picked up for the first service the driver rang us when he arrived back at LandRover to say there was something wrong with autobox. We were told car should have been recalled for a software upgrade to fix problem - autobox is now perfect. We have had two road side call outs. First one the car completly failed - no power to even open the doors, problem was located to a loose fuse. On the second occassion there was insufficient power to start the car; this time a new battery and alternator was requried. Electrical faults continue, alarm constantly goes off; we have been advised this week (May 2013) there is now a software patch to fix this. But now we have a new problem of the main headlight goes off when the indicator is used - back to LandRover again tomorrow. I think the off road performance is compromised by the standard tyres. During heavy snow this year car was unable to get out of our steep drive (our previous 4x4 managed this without hesitation). So if off road/snow use is important to you consider fitting alternative tyres.

I bought my Evoque with 1200 miles on the clock and I must say it’s been excellent, I have done a lot of trips away in it and I’m amazed at how economical it is, I am nudging 50mpg on a run, it’s been totally reliable and turns heads wherever I’ve been – I regularly find people looking inside when I return to it or just looking round it. Last January a work mate walked into work as his brand new Audi was stuck in his street when it snowed. I took him home and he was blown away how easy the Evoque dealt with the dangerous conditions. All in all it's a great car – the only downside is that my local dealer's customer service is terrible. I will look for an independent to do my servicing once the warranty runs out thus taking them out of the picture.

In 40 years of motoring this car has been the worst car I have owned. It has traveled well under the average mileage. Since ownership the following has occurred: "A" pillar trims have been refitted due to intolerable wind noise. The boot hydraulic piston failed. A door lock failed. The passenger window motor failed, it's needed two replacement cameras at £800, the latest MOT revealed four advisories of two rear coil springs badly corroded and front suspension arm bushes worn. You can't just buy the bushes so it needs two complete arms. The total potential cost for the whole job is around £1K . The gearbox and differential failed, circa £6K to fix. It now has a 'restricted performance' light on the dashboard, which comes and goes. I intend to trade it in for something more reliable, with better dealer support. The Evoque is indeed a pretty looking car but has a complete lack of build quality.

Despite the major trivia of reliability of the Land Rover product range I still had to dive into it. I drove two versions of the evoque. The SE Tech & the HSE Dynamic. I loved both but due to the market being stronger and the look and drive if the HSE that's what I went for. I think it's one of the greatest cars I've ever had. And I've driven a fair few cars. But it's one of a kind nothing really you can compare the car too. I loved it that much I got my son a licensed kids one from an online supplier. It'll be here for Christmas, hopefully he will love his just as much as me.

In black with privacy glass to the rear, with satin steel wheels this is a real head turner and drives like a dream, with functions and equipment that leave very little to be desired. Fantastic sound system, Sat Nav and many options and easily adjustable leather seats which make long journeys a pleasure. However, long journey are probably best avoided unless your'e prepared for a rapid reduction of your bank balance!!! Driving in the most economic manner you can; the best your likely to get is around 37mpg!!! My daughter has an Audi Q3 (which is manual) same size engine and is achieving well inecess of 50mpg for mixed driving use!!! I didn't buy the car for economy, but when you know other manufacturers are offering comparable vehicles with 30%+ more fuel efficiency it just makes you want to leave the car on the drive to look at rather than be in (well with the engine running anyway!!!) Just to put the "fuel thing" into perspective, we recently drove from Essex to Suffolk and left with almost half a tank of fuel, the journey home was in the early hours of the morning and it was a concern we would have to refuel to get home (must say it was un-founded - the warning light didn't even come on but it won't be long!!!!!)

I drove mine to Scotland pulling a caravan and a gearbox fault flashed up on the dashboard. The Haldex pump was replaced after diagnostics at cost of £1K. Upon receiving the car back, the gearbox fault continued to flash up. It went in to the dealer a further four times, but still wasn't fixed. It then developed a low battery and would not start after two days on my drive. It then developed fault with iys infotainment / computer system (failure of CD, Navigation and Bluetooth). Land Rover has now had it for over a month, It's had new battery but nothing they have suggested has fixed the fault. There's been no offer of a courtesy car and I've had to face rude, arrogant receptionists. The biggest isssue is they come back with it needs a software update. How many terrabytes does the system have? The latest news is they have suggested infotainment / computer replacement at cost of £5.5K. I bought Land Rover to buy British. Never again, I've lost total faith in the product – it's four years old and cost £55K when it was new, but the build quality has been terrible.

Nice looking in Black with privacy glass and very comfortable seats. Not a drivers car, steering lacks feedback, auto gearbox jerky and can coast/idle in neutral if pushed which can be dangerous if pulling into a gap. Remote App doesn’t work most of the time. In the first eight months of ownership my Evoque went into the garage numerous times. Two months in, I drove the car home, no issues. Went to leave the house two hours later and it was making an almighty metal on metal clanging noise from the rear when trying to reverse out of the driveway. Called the LR Assistance out and they did all the roadside checks they could i.e. removing the tyres, checking for stones in the brakes, they were there for a good hour under the car and they couldn't tell me what the problem was but rang ahead to have the car recovered as whatever it was didn't sound healthy and they didn't want the car being moved. A quick browse of some Evoque owner forums revealed I wasn't the only person having this issue. After the car was recovered into the garage it would appear that within the next five days little gnomes snuck in during the night and fixed it as according to the garage they "didn't do anything". Four Months in - car went into restricted performance mode whilst in the overtaking lane on the motorway. Feedback four days later was that there was a problem with the DPF filter failing. I do a good amount of motorway driving which would allow the DPF filter to regenerate so this failure was no fault of my own. The customer service was shocking on this occasion in particular as my local dealership actually refused to accept my car from the recovery truck, it took LR Assistance to strong-arm them for the car to be taken in for repair. The gearbox.... it has a mind of its own. The car violently jerks backwards between every gear change. Took the car to two different garages. The first garage did nothing. Unfortunately it took a second visit to the second garage to have the gearbox issue partially resolved. They claim to have reset the software of the gearbox, however, the jerking still happens when the engine is cold. The car had to be given into the bodyshop to have the boot realigned as it had somehow managed to drift tight to one side leaving a large gap on one side of the boot. It's such a shame because I loved this car when I first purchased. All the extras like the TV, upgraded sound system, surround cameras, self park features made it seem fantastic but that's neither here nor there when your car has the reliability of a chocolate teapot. The customer service from the local dealerships is atrocious, you wait six weeks for the first appointment and this is without a courtesy car. The only people who were good to deal with were LR Assist over the phone whenever you'd break down because they went above and beyond to help, organising paid taxis to and from work, having your courtesy car delivered to your door etc. I won't be purchasing another Range Rover again, it's just not worth it.

Do not buy. My new Range Rover Evoque has a serious problem with the gearbox. Very dangerous and unfit to drive. Mine will not engage from stationary and is slow to react at road junctions. I have asked for my money back. Not what you would expect on a £50,000 car.

Great car, good build quality, though sat nav and media controls not as slick as some. Have had a few problems both of which were fixed quickly by local dealer; alarm going off (software fix) and radio cutting out (TV interference . Currently air-con not working and dealer wants car for three days but has no courtesy car until I return from holiday (in my uncomfortably hot car!)

Great looking and turn heads vehicle, reliable to date, only small issues such as 12v charging sockets blow fuses occasionally, main issue we discovered during wet snow at temperatures of -0.5c to -1.0c snowing directly at the vehicle from, snow built up on headlights as small ledge below, thus causing deflection of headlights into sky and pretty much causing no or very little visibility of road and road markings and also this type of snow caused the washer jets to stop from opening so could not clear the headlights with jet of water, had to stop vehicle and clear with hands, not very safe on motorway.
