Vauxhall Corsa Sting
Striking looks simply don't come much cheaper than the Vauxhall Corsa Sting - and you can thank those bright white stripes for that.
There's no mistaking the Vauxhall Corsa Sting model – just look at that pair of stripes stretching along the bonnet, roof and boot. And if that's not enough, there's a set of white alloy wheels you won't find anywhere else in the Corsa range.
It's just a shame that the Sting is only available with the Corsa's 1.2 and 1.4-litre petrol engines. If you want Vauxhall's excellent 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol (and trust us, you do), you'll need to hand over quite a bit more cash to step up to the Corsa Sting R. As well as the better engine, that model offers black alloy wheels, sports suspension and a racier interior.
Good points
Despite offering more kit than the sparsely equipped Life model, the Corsa Sting is actually cheaper, and with those big bonnet stripes, there's no mistaking the Sting for anything else.
Bad points
The Sting's engines won't set your heart racing and you have to dig deep for the excellent 1.0-litre engine in the Sting R.Those stripes won't suit all tastes – and neither will the lack of air-conditioning. You can't have it in the Sting, even as an option.

Our choice
Although it costs £2,000 more than the 1.2-litre Sting, the 1.0-litre Sting R is a better bet in our opinion – you get more kit, improved performance and reduced running costs with that model.
