The 2.0 diesel with DSG transmission is a breeze to drive with plenty of power and seamless gearchanges which make for relaxed driving. Fuel economy is excellent - usually about 65mpg on longer journeys. It is well-built and I hardly need mention the large boot. Mark IV exterior styling and interior fittings and finish are a big step up from previous Octavia models. Rear legroom and headroom are good. Many adjustments, eg for radio volume and headlamp beam height, are made by touch or via menus when traditional knobs would be more convenient.
What's the one thing you like most about your car?
    The brilliant engine/DSG combination.
If you could improve one thing, what would it be?
The reliance on the touchscreen and menus for making adjustments.

Despite some intial issues with the infotainment system, the Octavia is a pleasure to drive. Cold mornings often throw up a 'Front Assist Not Available' error which soon clears itself so not much of a problem. Infotainment system sometimes crashes and has to reboot. The boot is mahoosive which is a major plus point on a car which really isn't that big on the outside. I'm happy with the car and the SE L trim feels more premium that the price would suggest.
What's the one thing you like most about your car?
The boot is just gigantic. You can fit (virtually) anything in there. I did consider the Superb but with only a few extra litres I didn't see the point.
If you could improve one thing, what would it be?
When the windscreen washer fluid is low there is an incredibly bright yellow light that shines in your face to tell you. Totally unnecessary for such a trivial issue and causes a real distraction.
