Take the stress out of driving, not the fun, with the Ford Mustang Mach-E and BlueCruise

An icon. Electrified. The Mustang Mach-E now features BlueCruise technology for hands-free motorway driving, leaving you to enjoy the road ahead

Ford Mustang Mach-E

Ford knows a thing or two about building a car that’s good to drive, and the all-electric Mustang Mach-E continues that proud, spirited tradition. Of course, any Ford car that wears a Mustang badge must be able to back up its credentials with serious performance capability and the Mustang Mach-E doesn’t disappoint here, either. With high-power GT and Rally models available, the Mach-E is able to take that Mustang swagger onto a variety of roads - putting a smile on your face along the way.

One of those rare gems that’s also able to cover ground quickly, with no loss in levels of refinement or comfort, the Mustang Mach-E is perfectly set up to be your ideal day-to-day companion, no matter where you are. With a maximum range of up to 372 miles* to cover longer journeys with ease, Ford has accelerated its vision of an electrified future so that Mustang Mach-E drivers can now experience hands-free, eyes-on motorway driving: welcome to Ford BlueCruise.

A new era of mobility

With Ford BlueCruise you’ll be able to enjoy Ford’s latest innovation in Advanced Driver Assistance technology. Convenient and helping to reduce stress out on the road, BlueCruise allows for hands-free, eyes-on driving on specific sections of motorway across the UK (called Blue Zones) and on more than 84,000 miles of European highways. And, in typically groundbreaking fashion, Ford is the first manufacturer to launch a Level 2 assisted driving feature across Europe, while in North America, Bluecruise has been the top-ranked system of its type for two years running.

The cutting-edge driver assistance technology** utilises the Ford Mach-E’s Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control along with its Lane-Centering technology, allowing you to take your hands off the steering wheel while the vehicle maintains cruising speed and helps keep you in your current lane.

Safety is, of course, the number one priority, and your eyes and attention must remain on the road ahead, because you are still responsible for the safe driving of your vehicle. The BlueCruise tech features an interior infrared camera that continually monitors your eye gaze and head position to ensure you’re paying due care and attention to the road conditions, and if it detects you aren’t looking at the road, you’ll receive a visual warning appearing on the instrument cluster, followed by an audible chime just to remind you.

If you do not respond to the warning, then BlueCruise will self cancel and gently slow the vehicle down while maintaining steering control. It’s a system that’s fully adapted and ready for smarter motorway driving - helping to manage those longer journeys more easily and alleviate your driving workload.

Technology that drives confidence

You can relax with the all-electric Mustang Mach-E, reassured that it already benefits from a range of advanced, proven technology across key areas. For example, its suite of active safety features contributed to a five-star rating from industry safety experts EuroNCAP, while onboard wireless connectivity - run through Ford’s latest SYNC 4 infotainment setup - means you can access your music, maps and messages on the go. A large 15.5-inch central touchscreen also provides easy navigation to your favourite apps and in-car functions, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are provided as standard.

Ford recognises that you need to feel completely at ease with your driving environment, and part of that is any onboard technology working as it should. The BlueCruise system was validated during more than 100,000 miles of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) testing globally to make sure it can handle conditions drivers encounter every day – like worn-out lane markings, poor weather and roadworks. And, while it’s breaking new ground in the UK and Europe, there have been millions of hands-free miles already driven in the US and Canada via BlueCruise-equipped vehicles – a testament to its durability and effectiveness.

More than 95% of mainland UK’s motorways are now designated Ford Blue Zones, where Ford BlueCruise can be activated upon entering. The setup process is simple too; with automatic updates enabled and completed, your vehicle can have the latest Blue Zone routes ready to go.

Flexible driving, flexible subscription

Ford thinks you’ll love the convenience of BlueCruise so much that it’s offering a 90-day free trial, after which it’s available from just £17.99 per month, or £215 a year. Plus, with Advanced Driver Assistance technology evolving at such a rapid pace, any updates to Ford BlueCruise maps will be carried out automatically over-the-air as infrastructure progresses - meaning you can receive the most up-to-date experience.

With the Mustang Mach-E you’ll have access to over 600,000 charge points across the EU via the Ford Ford BlueOval™ Charge Network, so you can enjoy navigating your way around the UK and abroad in effortless style. Enhancing this fantastic all-electric package even further, Ford is also providing a free five-year service plan with Ford Assist roadside assistance for the duration.***
