Big price cut for Vauxhall Mokka Electric – new Griffin model saves over £7,000
The Vauxhall Mokka Electric will now start from under £30,000, thanks to the new Griffin model
- New Griffin trim level
- Starts from £29,495
- Available to order from April 17th
The Vauxhall Mokka Electric has received a dramatic price cut in the form of the new entry-level Griffin model. Starting from £29,495, it offers a saving of £7,115 compared to the Mokka Electric Design – the previous entry point – packing the same electric powertrain and a near-identical kit list.
It follows the recently-announced Vauxhall Corsa Electric Yes Edition, another budget-focused model bringing a price cut in the thousands. Both models will be available to order from April 17th and the first customers can expect deliveries in June.
What do I need to know about the Vauxhall Mokka Electric Griffin?
The Mokka Electric Griffin serves as the new entry point for the Mokka Electric lineup. While pricier versions get the latest 54kWh battery introduced in 2023, the Griffin uses an older 50kWh unit. This powers a front-mounted 134bhp electric motor, with WLTP-tested range standing at 209 miles. It’s the same battery and motor setup found in many models offered under parent-brand Stellantis, from the Citroen e-C4 to the Peugeot E-208.
The battery can be topped up via a public rapid charger at speeds of up to 100kW, enabling a 0-80% recharge time of 30 minutes. Alternatively, using a 7kW home wallbox will take 7.5 hours for a 0-100% recharge. As an added benefit, Vauxhall has partnered with Tesco to provide Mokka Electric Griffin customers a year of free recharging at its stores across the country.

Externally, the Griffin stands out from other Mokka Electrics with its contrasting black roof and tinted rear windows, along with a set of 17-inch silver alloy wheels. Customers also have access to the full range of paint colours at no extra cost – some of which command an extra £700 for other Mokka Electric models. There are LED tail-lights and headlights; the latter housed within Vauxhall’s ‘Vizor’ front end.
There’s plenty of kit inside, too, including a seven-inch driver’s display and a seven-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You get heated seats and a heated leather-effect steering wheel, plus automatic climate control and keyless start. All the important safety tech is present and correct, from lane-departure warning to cruise control and automatic emergency braking.
How much does the Vauxhall Mokka Electric Griffin cost and when can I order one?
Prices start at £29,495 for the Mokka Electric Griffin, which appears to be great value when compared to the £36,610 Design model or the range-topping Mokka Electric Ultra at £42,295. Order books open on April 17th with first deliveries scheduled for June.
