Hot car deal: sleek Volkswagen ID.5 coupe-SUV for just £279 a month
The all-electric Volkswagen ID.5 is now available for an amazing £279 a month; it’s our hot car deal for June 6th
The Volkswagen ID.5 is a truly comfortable car and boasts an impressive electric range, which helps to make it a stylish family option. Practicality remains good too, despite its sleek coupe lines, and there’s plenty of room for passengers and their luggage. We’ve had a few gripes about the ID.5’s interior quality, while the touch-sensitive slider that controls the climate and volume levels continues to frustrate, but the clean, minimalist interior design works well and the ID.5 could be an interesting alternative to its VW ID.4 sibling.
What’s so good about this Volkswagen ID.5 deal?
This two-year deal from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts lets you cover up to 5,000 miles a year with an initial payment of £3,347.64, followed by monthly payments of £278.97. You can adjust the agreed annual mileage if you wish, although you will pay a little more. For example, upping the allowance to 10,000 miles means you’ll pay an extra £30.31 per month, with a further £363.72 added to the deposit amount.
The ID.5 offered in this particular deal is a Style Pro Performance model, and includes 19-inch alloys, matrix LED headlights, all-round parking sensors as standard, a reversing camera, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, and a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen.
The Pro Performance set-up uses a single motor with a power output of 201bhp. 0-62mph takes 8.4 seconds, while you should see a real-world range of around 300 miles.
What’s so good about the Volkswagen ID.5?
If you’re considering a VW ID.4, but want a sharper, sleeker look, then upgrading to the ID.5 makes some sense. Its curvier, coupe-style actually makes it slightly more efficient than the ID.4, increasing its quoted range by a couple of miles, while there's no huge drop in overall practicality. Slightly compromised by below-par interior quality, the choice will likely come down to whether the ID.5’s design appeals or not – that and the competitive monthly payments on offer through this leasing deal.

Anything else I need to know about this deal?
This is a lease deal, often referred to as Personal Contract Hire (PCH), so there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the contract. You are effectively renting the car for the two-year term, but the deal is very flexible so you can adjust the term length, mileage limit and initial payment size to suit, but only at the outset. Once the deal is over, you just hand the keys back and start looking for your next car.
Our hot deals are carefully selected by our car buying experts and they are all subject to change. Always read the full terms and conditions and make sure the car and the deal suits your needs before proceeding.
