Since this is a new car which replaces a previous petrol-engined c30, it is best for your survey to comment on the previous car which in 2.5 years (it was a demonstrator) performed faultlessly though it was a bit sluggish and thirsty on fuel (34 mpg). I replaced it only because i wanted a diesel model.

The sleek good looks of the volvo r-design make it the best looking car on the road-particulary as you can have this finish with the more economical engines.Boot Space comes at a premiun but volvo has fantastic customer service.Second Hand buying prices are also fairly reasonable.

This is a stylish car with good handling, exceptional green credentials and although slightly compromised on space is capacious enough for day to day use. Its very quiet and the ride for such a low slung car is superb.

Really pleased with the quality and the way the car looks, it does get other motorists and passers-by looking, however, the car is far too heavy for the 1.6 engine, so performance and economy has made this car a bit of a dissapointment. Nonetheless, love it!

Volvo c30 r design is well equipped, stylish and a superb drive, However folding the front seats to allow rear passenger access is awkward and the boot is on the small size,these are minor niggles and the handling of the car more than makes up for these few annoyances, oh and it corners as if it was on rails. All in all 9 out of ten.

Small spot of rust on wing was reason for other being ticked above. Otherwise i'm delighted with the performance of the car, but it isn't green and has a poor mpg of around 25.

The c30 has proven to be an extremely reliable, comfortable and economical car. Some of the interior plastics are disappointing as is the wind noise at speed. It is a great looking little car that still attracts admiring looks. The boot is not the largest and the luggage cover is riddiculous,but there was no problem fitting in all the luggage for a recent 2500 mile trip to france and germany. It returned a very satisfify 49 mpg.

Volvo C30 1.6 R-design 2008 (28,000 miles) owned 3 years in shining white I love my Volvo c30 but not happy with the poor fuel consumption and annual road tax (£210), fast, handles great, good looking and comfortable. I love the petit boot, folding the seats to access rear passengers are awkward, takes a bit of getting used to. The finishing touches inside are superb with the stylish console, leather seats & having cruise control is just perfect for my long journeys If fuel consumption was better & Road Tax less I would give this little beauty 5 stars Can't decide whether to keep or sell & buy a Golf GT (4 years old)

One fault- heating ventilation - required 4 visits to franchise dealer. Trim still not correct from dash being taken out - cr not going back to them.

Great little pocket rocket - fast, economical, handles great, good looking and comfortable but don't buy it in black. It gets dirty incredibly quickly and shows scratches etc. All in all fab car.

This is my fourth volvo in 10 years and my wife has had 3 volvos in that time.Both My wife and i have found that they are good solid reliable cars with a pleasing balance of style, safety and practicality. We currently now have two volvo c30 r design drive e models.The Local volvo dealer barnetts of dundee provide a good aftersales service and have built up a good relationship with them.

The car is exactly what i expected it to be. Stylish, reliable and cheap run coupe that didn't cost very much to buy. Comfortable and stylish interior with reasonably good build quality. No rattles or squeaks. Ride is nice and smooth. Not overly stiffly sprung which i like. It is also practical enough for me being an occasional 4 seater with a decent boot. It's pretty much perfect given i didn't want to spend the money for a scirocco!

The car itself (volvo c30 2.0d r-design) is a very well built, good looking car, and also drives with comfort and ease. The ride is somewhat stiff in comparison to my previous vehicle (2006 vw passat) and bumps in the road add discomfort to the overall ride quality, but its worth mentioning that the stiffened suspension helps it through corners while remaining rigid, though it is not disappointing, as the car is vey fun to drive even though its a 2.0 diesel with 136bhp. my only complaint as yet is with the customer service experience i have received from volvo (preston) which is probably the worst i have received in my life, in fact the service was very good to start, but the after sales is shocking. Due to this i shall not be purchasing a volvo again, which is a shame as the car is very good and deserves an exellent review.

Volvo's attempt at a sub 99g car has failed to deliver expected performance with the stop start system failing to operate, therefore rendering the car 'standard' with a price premium. Ongoing faults still being 'looked into'

Absolutely perfect. Roomy interior, incredibly comfortable, quiet and safe. Love the individualistic styling and safety touches, both inside and out. I knew it had a small boot when i bought it so this has not caused me any unexpected problem.

I have been delighted with the car, it's my first vovo in 40 years of driving and i've found what i've been missing! I just wish they made a 2 seatyer rag-top!! - i would definately buy one. reliability and build is top class, and dealer very good, but expensive - i now use a independent.
