Bentley Continental GT coupe - Reliability & safety
The Bentley Continental GT shares its underpinnings with the Porsche Panamera, which should reassure prospective customers
Buying a Bentley isn’t quite the same as purchasing a lowlier model, so it’s safe to say customer service should be top-notch should anything go wrong. Issues from the factory should also be relatively few and far between, as the manufacturer is renowned for inspecting every car for even the most minute blemishes before they're allowed to leave the production line.
Bentley Continental GT reliability
Bentley is a part of the Volkswagen Group, so it’s safe to say you should expect one of its cars to be even more reliable than a VW or Audi, brands that finished 18th and 22nd respectively in our 2022 Driver Power owner satisfaction survey. A Bentley certainly takes much longer to build because many elements of its interior are hand-finished and fitted to the car. For instance, the wooden inlays alone take around nine hours to fit. Encouragingly, Porsche finished top of the survey in 2022, which is good to know considering the Continental shares some parts with the Porsche Panamera.
Safety
While it’s unlikely the Bentley Continental GT will ever be crash-tested by Euro NCAP, top models from Audi and Porsche typically get excellent safety scores, and the Porsche Cayenne and Porsche Taycan both received a top five-star rating. The standard-fit City Specification pack adds a host of safety tech including traffic sign recognition, city assist, pedestrian warning and reversing traffic warning.
