The car is 8 years old with 147k so you have to expect the odd thing to need replacing! So far only a sticking brake caliper (now replaced) has caused me problems. Overall, pleased.

Some early issues with the transmission (prop shaft / differential unit) were dealt with under warranty. I think that at 64k miles, the a/c compressor has become noisy. My workshop agrees but we're going with it for now.

Superb quality and reliability. Still feels tight and sharp. The only failing has been the inbuilt satnav which would have been very expensive to fix and to be honest my iphone does a better job given advancing technologies. I over specified it when i bought the car and expected to keep it for 5 years, now over 10 years on i still smile when i get in it. I appreciate it has had a very easy life but i wouldnt be surprised if i kept it for another 5 years.

Love the low emission, tax and running cost and build quality. However, deslike the standard run flat tyres because they are very expensive to replace and they provide harsh bump and ride when driven over potholes or uneven road.

Convertible has more than lived up to expectations. Hard folding roof may be awkward in terms of using up space, but very easy to live with especially through recent bad weather. Electrical problem ( control box ) occurred shortly after taking receipt of car

Looks stunning, drives beautifully and has a hard wearing interior. Fuel consumption is decent compared to performance. Dealership treatment was top notch.

Brilliant handling, build quality, performance and economy. It's also very comfortable and the six speed auto box is superb. The folding metal roof is brilliant. The only complaints are the cost of purchase and the ultra low profile run flats whilst they give grip and cornering ability which seems to defy the laws of physics do deliver a hard ride. Overall though this is the best car i have ever owned and driven.

Great car from bmw let down by excessive tyre wear on the inside corner of the rear tyres. This is a common feature of bmw's with 19" alloy wheels on run flat tyres.

Very quick, very stylish, very lovely car but its expensive to run and expensive to maintain. I think bmw charge stupid amounts for simple things such as an oil service, they should make their prices more competitive in order to attract new purchasers

A brilliant car and does all that i want /need. Disappointment +++++++ by recent drivers door stop metal fatigue failure and appearance of penetrating rust on both front wings. Car has had no accident damage and bmw not even interested in inspecting these faults far less remedying them.

The car has been off the road around 9 times and reoccurring problems have caused me significant inconvenience, the car broke down the day before we set off on a european touring holiday and we couldn't open the windows for 2 weeks and even bmw in bavaria did not have the correct part for 3 days, i love the car to drive when its working but overall i cannot put up with the unreliability

Problem with excessive, uneven wear of tyres on 19" alloys caused by aggressive camber settings by bmw and goodyear tyre inability to cope. Neither party is accepting responsibility though goodyear have admitted that this is a known problem. Bmw refuse to recognise this. Shabby customer service!

In its class as a 4 seater high end cabriolet i can't fault it and it has lived up to expectations. no car is perfect and there will always be niggling issues but these we live with, otherwise it ticks all my boxes. would consider upgrading when new re-styled model comes out ... have had all the variants of this car going back now, 3 consecutive model upgrades and will continue to rate it as class leader with audi a5 only better in terms of styling right now and falling short on all other measures.

Fantastic!! Is all thingsto all men (and women). Pottersaround or has sizzling performance and at the same time is comfortable, seats 4 and can carry luggage. Fuel consumption is pretty good for such a car.

An absolute joy to own. I've never owned a bmw before but will buy another one next year! The 3 series coupe is practical, beautifully built, with a subtle, stylish yet sporty design. I can drive for hours and feel comfortable and fresh when i arrive. It is very good on fuel economy yet still strong to accelerate when needed. A great car! Bmw were very helpful during the sales and delivery process and sytner in high wycombe have been exemplary in looking after me and my car since then.

Will never buy another bmw, ride to firm, car tramlines,been in 3 times for clutch judder last time they fitted modifed clutch and flywheel mileage 8000 jan.2010 car milage now 11500 and its starting to judder again. do not slip clutches on my cars also it got stop/start fitted.had repairs carried out to side bolster on drivers seat .the mechanics also scratched the plastic houseing over the radiator when it was in for repairs.engine brilliant ride and dealership rubbish.

When car runs ok, it's the best car I've ever had. But, it's the most unreliable, costly car I've ever had. In 18 months it's cost me £3000. It only had 54,000 on the clock when I bought it.

In the 11months of ownership the car had; Turbo Actuators replaced Coil packs replace Battery replaced Shocks replaced Light cluster replaced and experienced a number of limp home mode breakdowns

bubbling rims replaced under warranty. Rear discs at 75k. New air con compressor - failed during warranty but only diagnosed after - worth getting independent opinion rathe rthan being fobbed off by BMW
