The best fun car money can buy. More practical than you might expect - can carry luggage for two for up to a fortnight. Economical - the 1.8k engine gives over 40mpg, yet can manage 0-60 in 5secs and tops out at about 125 mph. Dry in wet weather (though the roof is fiddly to put up), warm in winter (most powerful heater i've ever had) and far more comfortable on long journeys than its sporting heritage would suggest. I've driven it in all weathers, including on snow and ice, and use it as a commuter car to work every day - i always look forward to driving it whatever the weather. Even my wife enjoys it - she encourages me to take her out for drives on the weekend and calls it the four-wheeled deckchair in summer! Simply the best car i ever bought!

The car is a no compromise specialist car and needs to be judged on that basis. Its lack of any electronic or other driver aids with its combination of handling and acceleration creates a visceral driving experience which always leaves a smile om one's face.

Brilliant little car. Amazingly does long continental journeys with no fuss at all, very minor problems in the past and last year has been 100% reliable. Mileage now 42,000.

Tremendous fun. Needed a lot of sorting out to begin with. Totally impractical (no windscreen, no doors, no roof) is as aerodynamic as a half-brick, but i wouldn't swap it for the world.
