Dacia introduces seven-year ‘Zen’ warranty for new and used cars
Up to seven years of cover will be a reassuring selling point for Dacia buyers
- Up to seven years/75,000 miles of warranty cover
- Available for new and eligible used cars
- Warranty period extended with each Dacia service
New and existing Dacia customers can look forward to a new ‘Dacia Zen’ warranty scheme, providing cover for new Dacia models lasting for up to seven years or 75,000 miles, whichever comes first. For existing owners, it will apply to eligible cars up to six years old.
The warranty is extended with each service at a Dacia dealership. Existing owners won’t need to have serviced their Dacia within the manufacturer’s network every time to qualify, so long as the servicing has been completed within its guidelines and is well documented.
Dacia Zen should provide quite a bit more reassurance than the current scheme, which only covers Dacia models for a maximum of three years and up to 60,000 miles. For all but the highest mileage drivers, it will more than double the length of cover they can expect.
Head of Dacia UK Aftersales, Steve Whitcombe, said: “Owning a Dacia is all about adventure, but that doesn’t mean that owners should have to worry about the unexpected. Dacia Zen gives our customers even more reassurance. In the unlikely event of an issue, Dacia Zen means they won’t have to pay out for any repairs.”
When Dacia customers activate the full seven years of warranty cover, this will easily surpass the three years offered by the likes of Ford and Volkswagen Group. It also exceeds the five years offered by Hyundai, although the South Korean brand’s 100,000-mile limit is higher. Kia offers an impressive seven years and 100,000 miles as standard, while Toyota’s ‘Relax’ warranty can last for up to 10 years if the owner services their car within the Toyota network.
