Used car deals of the week: Snazzy MINI and Cupra bargains
Used car finance deals on upmarket models from MINI and Cupra, plus a wildcard Audi TT that still looks fresh
If you’re buying a used car, it’s even more important to research the deals available thoroughly, and be open-minded to the best used car deals on offer. This can often save you lots of money if you’re prepared to consider different models.
To help you find the top used car deals in the UK, our team of experts regularly check the classifieds to look out for top models and great value prices.
This week's top picks include two hatchbacks that don’t feel like a downgrade if you’re downsizing, along with an Audi TT wildcard: a two-door coupe that is no longer available new, but still looks fantastic today.
Each week we’ll add a selection of the best used car deals, and move our past picks down the list while they are still available, so you can check those out too.
It’s important to avoid the potential pitfalls that can come with buying a used car, and we’ve got a guide explaining all the things to look out for. We’re featuring mainly nearly-new cars on this list, most of which are still within the manufacturer’s warranty and available on an approved used scheme, but also throwing in a wildcard in case you fancy something a little older and more interesting. However, we haven’t viewed these cars in person, so it’s important to check out their history, and ideally organise an inspection, before going ahead with a purchase.
Read on for our list of the best used car deals.

Our pick of this week’s used car PCP deals…
Used MINI Hatch: £210 a month
Fancy a fun runabout that doesn’t feel like you’ve taken a downgrade in quality? The MINI Hatch fits the bill perfectly, and examples just a few years old cost just over £200 a month.
Model: MINI Hatch 1.5 One Classic manual

Superminis aren’t as on-trend as SUVs at the moment, so it’s easy to forget just how well suited they are to British roads and buyers. This used approved MINI Hatch is a perfect example, being small enough to easily whizz through gaps in traffic, duck into multi-storey car parks and even find a home on a small driveway. This example comes with cruise control, LED lights and DAB radio, while its 1.5-litre petrol engine can return up to 52.3mpg. Sitting in insurance group 13, it should also be affordable to cover for most drivers.
Used Cupra Born: £263 a month
A nearly-new, highly-rated electric family hatchback for well under £300 per month? Not only that, but this Cupra Born has covered just 18,887 miles since it left the factory.
Model: Cupra Born 58kWh V2 automatic

The Cupra Born is the more stylish sibling of the Volkswagen ID.3, and we also rate how it drives and its standard equipment level more highly than the VW. Remarkably, this nearly-new example could be on your driveway for under £300 a month. Once there, it won’t cost you much more each month, thanks to zero VED road tax (until 2025), reasonable insurance and recharging that should be quite a bit cheaper than running a combustion-engined car, especially on a cheap home electricity tariff. This Born comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, a 12-inch infotainment display and LED headlights.
Carbuyer wildcard: Audi TT
Fancy a stylish coupe that won’t age badly? The Audi TT might be off the menu at new car showrooms, but that should only serve to bolster demand for used examples like this.
Model: Audi TT 1.8T S Line manual

We’ve chosen this example, because not only does it look very crisp finished in white paintwork with bi-colour alloy wheels, but it’s also something of a purists choice. Its 1.8-litre petrol turbo engine might only put out 180bhp, but the fact it comes with a manual gearbox means it’s great fun to engage with, and it should feel light on its feet too. It’s also easy to live with every day and can even return up to 47mpg on a gentle cruise.

If you want to go further or faster, the 2.0-litre petrol engine chimes in, and the rear-wheel drive BMW is surprisingly sporty to drive. Everything is well built, and thanks to a growth spurt over the years, the 3 Series is also quite roomy inside.

Are you a fan of ‘squircles’? If so, the squares with rounded edges are a prominent design feature of the quirky Fiat Panda, which is full of Italian style. It’s also incredibly economical to own and run, and while it’s not exactly an SUV, it does offer passengers a slightly elevated position for a great view of the city. With mild hybrid tech, its 1.0-litre petrol engine can deliver a diesel-like 57.6mpg and insurance is also some of the cheapest around. This example has been given an 82-point RAC service and inspection and comes with 12 months of RAC breakdown cover.
Hyundai Ioniq Electric: £151 a month
The Hyundai Ioniq is an efficient electric model that can seriously cut your motoring bills, and low-mileage examples for around £150 a month represent a real bargain.

About the car… |

The Hyundai Ioniq was notable at launch for being offered in either hybrid, plug-in hybrid or fully-electric guises, and it’s the EV we’re focused on here that has the biggest ability to slash your motoring costs. Its low-slung shape and smooth grille are very aerodynamic, helping it achieve an impressive range between charges, even if its 38kWh battery looks small by today’s standards. It’s also quiet, smooth and spacious enough for families.
Used Kia Ceed: £212 a month
Incredibly, this 2022 Kia Ceed can be had for just over £200 a month and still has five years of its manufacturer warranty remaining, which should make for hassle-free motoring.

Although cars like the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus will be the first to spring to mind when it comes to family hatchbacks, the Kia Ceed has become a worthy rival in the class. Now in its third generation, the Ceed has evolved to offer excellent passenger comfort, plenty of interior mod cons and a polished driving experience. The 1.5-litre petrol engine also has a turbocharger fitted, ensuring it has enough punch to tackle country roads and motorways. Take it easy, and it can also return close to 50mpg.
Used Mazda MX-5: £281 a month

It’s one of the finest-handling cars on sale, but as a used buyer, you’ll also be happy to know it’s also reliable and cheap to run. Fitted with a high-revving 1.5-litre engine, the lightweight MX-5 can return almost 45mpg and costs the standard rate each year to tax. This Mazda Approved Used example comes with LED lights, sat-nav, heated seats and rear parking sensors, along with a full Mazda service history.

The Mazda MX-30 is the brand’s first-ever electric car, and the brand has injected some of its DNA to make it stand out in the EV crowd. It features rear-hinged doors that open the opposite way round – a quirk that harks back to the Mazda RX-8 sports car of the mid-2000s – and it’s fun to drive just like the MX-5 sports car. This approved used example is finished in white, and has done just 30,588 miles on a 71-plate. With a £2,000 deposit, you can have it for just £134 per month over 48 months, but you can tweak this for a cheaper deposit and slightly higher instalments if it better suits your budget.
Used MG4: £182 a month
The MG4 burst onto the scene with an affordable price and great specs, and used examples now seem like even more of a bargain. You can pick one up on a used finance deal for well under £200 a month.

With SUV-like styling and a sharp nose, the MG4 is a fashionable family hatchback. It’s also a real cost-saver, because so long as you can charge cheaply, you’ll be saving lots of money versus petrol or diesel. It’s also free to tax (until April 2025) and avoids ULEZ charges. Our 2024 Best Family Electric Car is surprisingly fun to drive, with plenty of punch from its electric motor, and a driving range of up to 218 miles. This one-owner example hasn’t even passed the 10k-mile mark yet, and it has a full MG service history and over five years of warranty cover remaining.

Traditional hatchback buyers have flocked to SUVs thanks to their added practicality. The Peugeot 3008 is a stylish example, with a unique interior design, a decent-sized boot and lots of space for passengers and child seats. It’s also safe and economical, despite its raised height. This diesel example can return around 60mpg, making it superb for longer trips and family holidays. It’s also loaded with tech, including a 10-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch instrument display, LED headlights and front parking sensors. This example has also been through a 145-point check and an extended warranty is available for extra peace of mind.

The SEAT Ibiza offers the best of both worlds, offering sporty looks and performance, but with the practicality of five doors, a hatchback and a surprisingly roomy interior. It’s economical too, returning just over 50mpg. This dealer also includes a two-year SEAT Approved warranty and breakdown cover.
Used Tesla Model Y: £425 a month
We really rate the Tesla Model Y, naming it the Best Company Car in our 2024 awards. Used examples with low mileages like this car are now available for well under £500 per month.
Model: Tesla Model Y RWD automatic

About the car… |
|
|
With less than 10k miles on the clock, this Model Y is virtually a demonstrator, yet it’s available on used car finance for just £425 a month. This is helped by the low APR rate of 7.9%. While Tesla is still regarded as a new kid on the block, the Model Y has taken the world by storm, becoming a global best-seller. Not only is it quick and efficient, it’s also practical for families, with a large boot and an additional ‘frunk’ storage space under the bonnet that can come in very handy. There’s plenty of space inside, too, and the interior is particularly minimalist, with almost everything controlled from a large central touchscreen.
Used Toyota Aygo X: £151 a month
If you want a stylish and reliable car it’s hard to beat the Toyota Aygo X. Prices are becoming seriously tempting – this example is just over £150 per month – and a long warranty means unexpected bills are highly unlikely.

|
The Toyota Aygo X is the latest evolution of the Japanese brand’s popular city car, which has now grown in both stature and abilities. SUV styling and slightly raised suspension means it can take more knocks and it’s easier to get in and out of, without compromising its agile handling. It’s fitted with a frugal 1.0-litre petrol engine that’s capable of returning up to 58.9mpg. In fact, cheap running costs are the name of the game, and servicing at a Toyota dealership can keep the warranty intact for up to 10 years from new.
Used Volkswagen Golf GTE: £272 a month
If you aren’t ready to go for a fully electric car, and you’d prefer a hatch to a saloon, the Volkswagen Golf GTE offers petrol and electric motoring for under £300 a month.
Model: Volkswagen Golf GTE 1.4 TSI DSG automatic

This sporty Golf might be easily mistaken for a GTI, but it’s actually a GTE – with both a petrol and electric motor, along with a battery pack. This allows it to return up to 246mpg on the combined cycle, and so long as you charge it often, it could consume almost no fuel at all during local trips. This also results in CO2 emissions of just 21g/km for low Benefit-in-Kind liability. This example is fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels and both a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, along with a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen.

That means the Cupra Ateca is packing a highly-tuned 2.0-litre petrol turbo engine with 297bhp, paired with a lightning-fast DSG automatic gearbox and grippy four-wheel drive system. Play with the driving modes, and it can turn from a quiet, comfortable school run car one moment, to a B-road bruiser the next. It’s one of the most fun SUVs this side of a Porsche Macan as a result, yet this example costs around £25k.

Carbuyer wildcard: Toyota GR86
We reckoned the Toyota GR86 was the best affordable sports car when it was available, but sadly, getting hold of a new car in the UK was rather tricky due to a limited supply. Used examples are readily available though, including this car with only delivery miles.

|
When the Toyota GT86 launched back in 2012, testers and owners loved its fun handling, but there was a general consensus it could handle more power. The GR86 saw an increase in engine size to deliver more grunt, along with a bit more polish in just about every other area for good measure. The resulting model became our favourite affordable sports car, with handling to rival a Porsche for the price of a Volkswagen Golf GTI. This approved used example looks great in metallic grey paint with dark alloy wheels, and it comes with a warranty and 14-day return guarantee for extra reassurance.
