Today’s hot car deal: affordable GWM Ora 03 EV for just £130 per month
Could this be the cheapest route to EV ownership in the UK? Our hot car deal for March 2nd is the funky GWM Ora 03 hatchback for just £130 per month
Here’s an EV deal that will be welcomed by hordes of buyers looking for an affordable all-electric car. The GWM Ora 3 is a small, five-door EV that features a stylish exterior design and plenty of interior space, along with useful practical features and a top safety rating. The 03 appears to have claimed a niche of its own, sitting between the Volkswagen ID.3 and the MINI Electric supermini, although it’s been designed to carry four six-foot passengers in comfort.
Owned by GWM (Great Wall Motors), one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in China, the Ora brand is set to grow rapidly this year, with a new saloon model – the Ora 07 – due later in 2024. But for now, you could be one of the first to take advantage of this seriously competitive GWM Ora 03 personal leasing deal.
What’s so good about this GWM Ora 03?
This deal from Applied Leasing lets you cover up to 5,000 miles a year with an initial payment of £1,564.32, then monthly payments of £130.36 across a two-year term. You can extend the deal to cover either three or four years, paying £147.90 or £168.19 per month, respectively, with an increase to the initial deposit amount, too.
Offered in entry Pure+ specification, the Ora 03 still comes loaded with kit, including LED headlights, keyless start, rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, a wireless smartphone charging function, and dual 10.25-inch screens – one for the driver’s display information and the other controlling the infotainment system.
Power comes from a 48kWh battery supplying a single 169bhp electric motor; 0-62mph is taken care of in 8.3 seconds, with a 99mph top speed. This particular model has a 193-mile range, which should be suitable for most day-to-day journeys, although topping up the battery from a home wallbox should be straightforward enough – taking around five and a half hours to charge from 15-80%. Performing the same task at a 100kW rapid public charger takes just 42 minutes.
What’s so good about the GWM Ora 03?
The standout features of the Ora 03 are pretty obvious; its stylish looks mean you’ll stand out in the crowd, while generous standard kit, a roomy cabin and practical everyday range help the Chinese contender stand its ground when compared with other talented rivals. Downsides? The boot is pretty small, and you may want to look elsewhere if you have to undertake longer journeys on a regular basis, but this is balanced out by a top safety rating from industry experts Euro NCAP and, of course, that amazingly low monthly cost.

Anything else I need to know about this deal?
This is a lease deal, often referred to as Personal Contract Hire (PCH), so there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the contract. You are effectively renting the car for the two-year term, but the deal is very flexible so you can adjust the term length, mileage limit and initial payment size to suit, but only at the outset. Once the deal is over, you just hand the keys back and start looking for your next car.
Our hot deals are carefully selected by our car buying experts and they are all subject to change. Always read the full terms and conditions and make sure the car and the deal suits your needs before proceeding.
