New Honda HR-V gets makeover and fancy new trim level
Upgrades for 2024 Honda HR-V, along with a new Advance Plus range-topping trim
- New-look exterior
- Advance Plus trim with extra kit
- Updated safety kit
It’s been three years since this generation of Honda HR-V arrived, and it’s now set to benefit from a facelift to keep it fresh against its many rivals. The changes are subtle, but there are both interior and exterior upgrades, along with a new Advance Plus trim level.
What does the new Honda HR-V look like?
The HR-V is currently Honda’s top-selling model in Europe, so it clearly doesn't want to mess with the formula too much. As you’d expect, most of the changes are at the front, where there’s now a new grille and redesigned front bumper. Honda has also ushered in some black trim to give the HR-V a more aggressive and sporty look.
There’s a new set of headlights with a new daytime-running light signature, an updated LED rear light bar and buyers will be able to pick from new colour options called Sage Green, Seabed Blue and Urban Grey.
What about the new Honda HR-V’s interior?
Small, but carefully designed alterations are the order of the day here too, and include a new centre console that makes it easier to get to the wireless smartphone charging pad. Rear privacy glass is now standard, which should please families with small children, and refinement has been boosted by the use of additional sound deadening.
A new Advance Plus trim level will also slot into the line-up for boosted desirability. It adds a panoramic glass roof, a new design of alloy wheels and body colour painted wheelarches that contrast with a ‘Crystal Black’ grille.
Safety technology also gets an update in the form of a 360-degree camera view that drivers can activate from the touchscreen when they need a clearer view of their surroundings. Traffic Jam Assist now offers autonomous steering from stationary and active safety systems have also been revised to “reduce their intrusion on everyday driving.”
How much does the new Honda HR-V cost and when can I buy one?
Honda hasn’t released official pricing info for the facelifted HR-V, but we expect a small increase over its current starting price of £33,160, while the new Advance Plus trim is likely to command a premium over the existing Advance Style trim that starts from £36,305.
