Hot car deal: smart and stylish Kia Picanto city car for £142 per month

An affordable city car that’s well-made and good to drive? The Kia Picanto is our hot car deal for March 28th at just £142 per month

A capable urban runaround needs to offer good value, be easy to drive and, despite its smaller proportions, still offer a dose of useful practicality. The five-door Kia Picanto has been around for a while now, but is more than up to the task of taking on the hustle and bustle of daily in-town driving. A sharp exterior look, attractive cabin and low running costs make the Picanto a cheerful proposition, and while its 1.0-litre petrol engine could do with a little more oomph, outright pace isn’t generally a priority for a city car.

What’s so good about this Kia Picanto deal?

This four-year deal lets you cover up to 5,000 miles a year with an initial payment of £1,520.94 - which includes a £238.80 processing fee - followed by monthly instalments of £142.46. If you’d prefer a little more flexibility, you can reduce the agreement to a two-year term, although you’ll pay £163.24 every month, with the initial deposit increasing by £187.02.

Although this particular Picanto model comes in entry-level 2 specification, it still gets the basics right; standard kit includes 14-inch alloys, air-con, electric windows in the front and rear, electrically-adjustable and heated door mirrors, a stereo system with four speakers, Bluetooth and a USB port. Rear seats that split in a 60:40 configuration, Hill-start Assist Control and a tyre-pressure monitoring system add to its overall practicality, too.

Power comes from a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, producing 66bhp via a five-speed automatic transmission. 0-62mph takes a lethargic 16 seconds, but the Picanto makes up for its performance deficit with a combined fuel economy figure of 54.3mpg.

What’s so good about the Kia Picanto?

The Kia Picanto is a proficient city car that comes with a sharp, modern look and just about enough standard kit to keep it from feeling too basic. Well built and reliable, with a fantastic manufacturer warranty, it’s worth considering if it fits with your lifestyle.

Anything else I need to know about this deal?

This is a lease deal, often referred to as Personal Contract Hire (PCH), so there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the contract. You are effectively renting the car for the two-year term, but the deal is very flexible so you can adjust the term length, mileage limit and initial payment size to suit, but only at the outset. Once the deal is over, you just hand the keys back and start looking for your next car.

Our hot deals are carefully selected by our car buying experts and they are all subject to change. Always read the full terms and conditions and make sure the car and the deal suits your needs before proceeding.
