Range Rover Sport SUV - Reliability & safety
Land Rovers aren’t exactly known for reliability, but the Range Rover Sport should be very safe
Land Rovers have been designed to be able to overcome almost any terrain; however, something that the brand has always struggled with is its build quality and reliability. Thankfully, as part of the aforementioned ‘Reimagine’ initiative, the British marque will be focusing on improving these aspects – keep an eye on our Driver Power surveys to see whether this promise holds up.
2022 Range Rover Sport: reliability
The Range Rover Sport is too new to have appeared in our latest Driver Power customer satisfaction survey. However, Land Rover as a brand finished a respectable 14th out of 29 manufacturers in 2022. A worrying 42% of buyers experienced a problem with their new car within the first year of ownership, although owners praised Land Rover for its smooth powertrains and spacious interiors.
Safety
The new Range Rover Sport was tested by Euro NCAP in late 2022 and awarded a five-star score. This included scores of above 80% in the Adult Occupant, Child Occupant and Safety Assist categories, so the Sport should be one of the safest SUVs on the road.
Standard safety and driver assistance equipment is strong and includes autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system.
