Kia Carens gets new top-spec model
The Kia Carens is now available with sat-nav thanks to a new specification
The Kia Carens range has been expanded to include a new top-spec model, meaning the seven-seater is now available with sat-nav. This new model, called the 3 Sat Nav, is available to order now, and costs from £24,845.
Featuring a seven-inch touchscreen with sat-nav installed, this new Kia Carens specification becomes the most expensive version of the car you can buy. The 3 Sat Nav spec also includes an upgraded audio system with seven speakers as standard.
The sat-nav system on the Kia Carens features European maps as well as a system called Traffic Management Channel that keeps track of the road ahead and warns the driver about traffic ahead. It can also automatically change the route to avoid the obstruction.
This new spec is based on the previous top-spec model, the 3, which gets heated leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, climate control for both driver and passenger, USB and iPod connectivity. Standard equipment on all models of the Kia Carens includes air-conditioning and cruise control, while options include rear window blinds and a wide-angle mirror.
Like the 3 model, the 3 Sat Nav is available with Kia’s 1.7-litre CRDi diesel engine with 134bhp and a six-speed manual gearbox. It can go from 0-60mph in 10.4 seconds and gets fuel economy of 57mpg. It also emits 132g/km, which means it will cost £125 a year to tax.
With all the seats in place the Kia Carens can seat seven people, but if you don’t need the third row of seats then the boot capacity is 492 litres. Fold all of the seats down and that expands to 1,650 litres.
The new Kia Carens 3 Sat Nav model costs from £24,895 and is available to order now. It comes with Kia’s excellent seven-year or 100,000-mile warranty as standard.
