Peugeot 308 on sale now
Peugeot family hatchback boasts economy of up to 91.1mpg and is more spacious than the car it replaces
The new Peugeot 308 will be priced from £14,495 when it goes on sale today. The car is capable of economy of up to 91.1.mpg and manages CO2 emissions as low as 82g/km.
The excellent economy and emissions figures come thanks to a weight reduction of more than 100kg over the outgoing model. The 308 should also be more fun to drive than the car it replaces.
The 308’s ‘i-Cockpit’ interior gives the car an upmarket feel thanks to use of a 9.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which controls things such as the heater and radio. The interior should also be very comfortable and features plenty of cubbyholes as well as cup-holders. With the rear seats up, Peugeot says the 420-litre boot is the largest in the class.
The basic Access model comes fitted with equipment such as a DAB digital radio, USB plug, cruise control and air-conditioning. Active models (priced from £17,195) add satellite navigation, rear parking sensors and dual-zone air-conditioning, with controls for both the driver and passenger. Priced from £18,645, Allure models also get a reversing camera, bright Xenon headlights and front foglights, while top-of-the-range Feline models (from £20,995) add a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry and go, plus large 18-inch alloy wheels.
The new 308 is also expected to hold its value better than the old Peugeot 308 it replaces and it has a five-star Euro NCAP rating.
Peugeot’s MD Tim Zimmerman said: “The New 308 is a significant leap forward for Peugeot. It’s high on style and quality and provides a truly rewarding driving experience, all at a value-for-money price. We’re confident it will be a big hit with UK customers.”
