Volkswagen Beetle deals: Car deal of the week
Save £2,000 on the entire VW Beetle range, with prices starting at just £13,715
You can now get a hefty £2,000 off the price of a brand-new Volkswagen Beetle hatchback – regardless of which model you choose. That means prices start at just £13,715, making the stylish two-door VW better value than ever before.
Standard equipment across the range includes a CD player with DAB radio, air-conditioning and electronic stability control. Upgrade to the mid-spec VW Beetle Design model and you’ll add 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity for your mobile phone and front fog lights. Prices start from £16,110 and you get a leather-trimmed steering wheel and central touchscreen as standard, too.
More racy Sport models now cost from £19,965, but add sports seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, two-zone climate control, as well as tinted windows and parking sensors. Turbo models start at £21,895 and include twin exhausts, chrome door mirrors and Turbo graphics on the doors.
Completing the range is the special-edition Volkswagen Beetle GSR – priced from £23,100. This model is only available with the most powerful 2.0-litre petrol engine, and comes with 19-inch wheels, xenon headlights and a beefy body kit. It’s available in two colours – yellow or grey, and gets black bonnet stripes as standard.
There’s a wide range of engines, from the entry-level 1.2-litre petrol up to the top-spec 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and diesels. If you choose the basic 1.2 TSI, it’ll do nearly 48mpg, yet accelerate from 0-62mph in just 10.9 seconds. However, the engine that offers the best mix of performance and running costs is the 1.6-litre TDI diesel, which offers 65mpg economy and plenty of power for overtaking.
Most models come with a five or six-speed manual gearbox or the option of a smooth DSG automatic. However, unlike in many cars, the automatic has no adverse affect on performance or running costs – so if you prefer auto gearboxes, the Beetle’s DSG is a good choice.
The impressive offers run until the end of March, and are available from all UK Volkswagen dealers. For more information on the current VW range, visit the Carbuyer Volkswagen reviews page.
