Skoda Octavia Laurin & Klement launched
Skoda offers Octavia buyers extra style and luxury with top-of-the-range model
The Skoda Octavia Laurin & Klement (L&K) edition has been launched in the UK with a price of £26,410 for the cheapest version.
First revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the Octavia L&K becomes the most luxurious model in the Octavia range, offering extra equipment on top of the existing Elegance trim level and some exclusive styling touches on the inside of the car.
The list of extra features includes 18-inch 'Turbine' alloy wheels, bright bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime lights and LED rear lights, leather and Alcantara upholstery, an upgraded stereo system and exclusive L&K cabin logos, stitching and door sill trims. The car also gets more technology in the form of lane assist, park assist and adaptive cruise control.
Laurin & Klement were the founders of Skoda and the L&K badge is now used by the Czech manufacturer to denote the special, luxury flagship versions of their models.
The Octavia L&K will be available with a 178bhp 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine or a 148bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine.
The 2.0-litre diesel starts at £26,410, while the more powerful 1.8-litre petrol model is priced at £26,570. The Octavia L&K will also be available as an estate and will cost £27,375 with the petrol engine. The most expensive version of the car will be the 2.0-litre diesel estate model equipped with four wheel drive - that starts at £28,665.
The Octavia L&K was first unveiled along with Monte Carlo special editions of the Skoda Citigo, Yeti and Rapid at the motor show in Geneva. Also on the Skoda stand in Switzerland was the Skoda VisionC, the firm’s first ever five-door coupe, as well as the new Skoda Octavia Scout, a crossover version of the Octavia for use off-road. That car features a raised suspension, four-wheel drive, and protective body panels.
