New VW Passat Alltrack announced at Geneva
VW 4x4 estate will compete with Audi A4 Allroad and Skoda Octavia Scout
Volkswagen has announced the latest generation of the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack all-wheel-drive estate car.
Competing with similar models such as the Audi A4 Allroad, Skoda Octavia Scout and Vauxhall Insignia Country Tourer, the Passat Alltrack is equipped with 4MOTION permanent all-wheel-drive, a modified chassis and an electronic differential lock. It also boasts 27.5mm more ground clearance than the outgoing model and chunky off-roader looks.
The Passat Alltrack will offers a choice of five engines. The model looks set to be an excellent tow car, with towing capacity of up to 2,200kg (braked) for some versions.
Inside, the infotainment package is as you'd expect from a modern Volkswagen, with a head-up display and rear-seat entertainment among the options. Driver aids such as traffic-jam assist, rear traffic alert and trailer assist are also good choices on the options list.
