Jaguar XE and XF 300 Sport models usher in range-wide updates

Jaguar XE and XF saloons get a new infotainment system and limited edition 300 Sport trim

The Jaguar XE and XF saloons are now available in a special edition 300 Sport trim, designed to be the cherry on top of a light refresh of both ranges. Expected to be on sale for a year, the Sport versions also mark the arrival of interior updates to all XE and XF models that should keep the duo competitive with rivals including the BMW 3 Series for the XE and the Mercedes E-Class for the XF.

You’ll be able to distinguish a 300 Sport model from outside thanks to new alloy wheels, dark satin grey trim, unique yellow badges and painted brake calipers. The XF Sport will be available in Yulong White, Indus Silver or Santorini Black, while the XE adds Caldera Red to the colour options.

Meanwhile, the interior on the special editions is marked out with yellow stitching for the steering wheel, seats and armrests, while the door sills, headrests and mats are all branded with the ‘300 Sport’ moniker.

Regardless of trim, every XE and XF will now come with the Touch Pro infotainment system and 10-inch touchscreen display. More chrome switchgear has been added, there’s a new auto-dimming rear-view mirror and the interior carpets have also been upgraded for greater panache.

The Jaguar XE 300 Sport is fitted with a 296bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, getting the saloon from 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds and on to a limited 155mph top speed. The bigger XF 300 Sport gets the same engine, but the option of a 296bhp six-cylinder diesel engine is added, as well as the choice of the Sportbrake estate body style.

Pricing for the Jaguar XE 300 Sport will start from £44,755, a premium of around £3,000 over a Portfolio model. The XF 300 Sport costs from £46,330 - slightly undercutting the Portfolio trim, while the XF 300 Sport with a diesel is pricier at £51,125. Boosting practicality by going for the XF Sportbrake in Sport trim adds around £2,000.
