New Fiat 500X S-Design is better connected
A new exterior design and improved infotainment for 500X S-Design SUV
A new special edition Fiat 500X S-Design SUV has been revealed by the Italian brand. The car is on sale now with a starting price of £20,495. Giving a boost to the ageing 500X, the S-Design version has an updated infotainment system and smartphone connectivity.
As its name suggests, the special edition also benefits from a makeover; roof bars, boot lid trim, door handles and alloy wheels are all painted black. There's a new bronze 'X-logo' along its flanks, and the 500X S-Design comes in five colours - the most striking of which is the matte-effect Marching Green seen in these pictures.
The changes continue inside, where a matte black dashboard and copper-coloured '500' badge add character, along with upholstery boasting 'techno-leather' inserts.
Standard kit includes LED headlights and daytime running lights, rear parking sensors, a 3.5-inch colour trip computer, dual-zone climate control, cruise control and a leather steering wheel with audio controls. The S-Design also gets Fiat's latest seven-inch Uconnect touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Safety features include lane assist, intelligent speed assist and traffic sign recognition.
Two petrol engines are offered, with an automatic available in the larger version. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder has 118bhp and a six-speed manual, while the four-cylinder 1.3-litre produces 148bhp and uses an automatic six-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DCT), increasing its cost to £22,695.
