New Ford Focus ST estate arrives
Next-gen Focus ST estate goes on sale this summer with price of £30,595
Ford has revealed the new Ford Focus ST estate. The estate joins the Focus ST hatchback at the top of the Focus range with similar sporty styling and more powerful engines but a bigger 608-litre boot. When it launches this summer, the Focus ST estate will rival the SEAT Leon Cupra ST. Prices start at £30,595, representing a £1,100 premium over the ST hatchback.
As with the hatchback, the Focus ST estate has a revised front bumper design, 19-inch alloy wheels and a black honeycomb grille. The rear of the car sees the most significant changes, with a prominent rear spoiler, a restyled rear bumper and two exhaust pipes separated by a mock diffuser.

Power comes from the same two engines available in the Focus ST hatchback, one of which is a turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 276bhp. This sends power to the front wheels via a six-speed manual or an optional seven-speed automatic gearbox. The additional weight of the estate causes a slight increase in the 0-62mph time compared with the hatchback, up from 5.7 to to 5.8 seconds. Ford claims fuel economy of up to 34.4mpg with CO2 emissions of 179g/km.
For those higher mileage drivers, a 2.0-litre diesel engine with a six-speed manual gearbox is also available. This 187bhp unit produces claimed fuel economy of 50.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 126g/km. Again, performance is slightly reduced compared with the hatchback equivalent, with 0-62mph taking a tenth more at 7.7 seconds.
The ST version of the Focus estate gets lowered and stiffened suspension for improved handling. It also features faster steering over the standard Focus, an electronic limited slip differential and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres to aid traction and handling.
