Citroen SpaceTourer gets new automatic gearbox option
The Citroen SpaceTourer MPV is available with a new automatic gearbox that improves towing capacity
The Citroen SpaceTourer MPV is now available with a new automatic gearbox. The eight-speed automatic gearbox can be ordered with the 118bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine and it significantly improves the car’s towing capacity. It’s priced from £36,620 and first deliveries are expected in October.
The new powertrain combination means that the SpaceTourer’s towing capacity has improved to 2.3 tonnes, an improvement of 500kg over the 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel with a manual gearbox.
The powertrain can be ordered in standard wheelbase form in a choice of two trim levels. The Feel model is more consumer-focused and comes as standard with automatic headlights, front fog lamps, rear privacy glass, cruise control, automatic dual-zone air-conditioning and a seven-inch infotainment system.
The SpaceTourer can also be ordered in Business trim, which is intended for corporate buyers. It’s designed for chauffeuring and taxi use and features a hard-wearing TPO plastic floor, seating for up to nine and air-conditioning. Prices start from £36,250.
The SpaceTourer is available with a wide range of optional extras. These include Xenon headlights (£600), a panoramic glass roof (£500), a detachable tow bar (£300) and headlight washer jets (£100). Citroen’s GripControl customisable traction control system is also available with a set of 17-inch alloy wheels for £1,160.
