Best car leasing deals 2025: this week’s top PCH offers
Our experts sift through the best car lease deals to save you money, and this week's includes new offers from MINI, Renault and Volkswagen.
When leasing a new car the sheer number of deals, payment terms and deals can seem almost overwhelming. That’s why our team of car experts keep an eye on the latest trends and only pick out the car leases with the biggest discounts on the best models. We also check the terms and conditions to make sure there are no surprises like stinging admin fees or excessive initial rental payments.
Our new choices for this week’s round-up of the best leasing deals include the latest MINI Cooper S for £224 a month, the Renault Rafale coupe-SUV for £239, and the ever-popular Volkswagen Polo for £197 a month.
Before signing on the dotted line, you’ll want to understand exactly how a leasing deal (also known as PCH) works, and how it differs from Personal Control Purchase (PCP) finance and Hire Purchase (HP). In its most basic terms, think of PCH as akin to renting the car on a long-term basis, while PCP allows you to pay off a car in instalments before deciding whether to buy it outright with a balloon payment or handing it back at the end of the term. Hire Purchase is more like a mortgage, where you pay monthly instalments until you own the car outright.
Along with cash purchases, these are the main methods of buying a new car in the UK, and the Carbuyer team also picks out the week’s best PCP car deals, along with some of our favourite used car deals of the week. A PCH deal is enticing thanks to its affordable prices, giving you access to new cars with very little hassle, but there’s typically no opportunity to own the car at the end of the term.

Best new car leasing deals – latest deals updated 9 January 2025
MINI Cooper S: £224 a month
The MINI Cooper continues to offer its alluring brand of sophisticated fun in a retro package that’s full of quality. As long as you’re sure its compact dimensions are sufficient to meet your day-to-day needs, then it’s an easy car to recommend. We’ve had previous doubts over high prices, but with this attractive leasing rate – over a two year deal – you’re all set for plenty of smiles per mile.

Upping power from the entry car’s 154bhp to a more potent 201bhp, this Cooper S model offers enough performance to keep things interesting. 0-62mph is taken care of in 6.6 seconds, while MINI has done a fine job in retaining that legendary go-kart feel. The extra pace doesn’t adversely affect fuel economy too much either, because the S version still manages an average of 45.6mpg (WLTP combined). The entry Classic trim level features 17-inch grey alloy wheels, Active Park Distance Control with a rear view camera, cruise control, a heated sports steering wheel, MINI’s circular central display with OLED technology, along with integrated navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Renault Rafale: £239 a month
The Renault Rafale is a coupe-SUV that offers plenty of style and a reasonably upmarket feel. There’s a surprisingly decent level of practicality too, despite its rakish lines, with rear passengers afforded lots of space to get comfortable. A useful 535-litre boot outshines its Peugeot 3008 rival, while we really rate the onboard tech package.

This particular Rafale model is offered in Techno specification, which includes 20-inch alloys, matrix LED headlights, a rear view camera, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, and Renault’s openR link infotainment system with a 12-inch display. The Rafale’s full-hybrid E-Tech powertrain produces 197bhp, via a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine and a single electric motor. There’s also a further e-motor that acts as a generator, to assist the engine when required. 0-62mph takes 8.9 seconds, while Renault claims average fuel economy of 60.1mpg (WLTP combined cycle).

Volkswagen Polo: £197 a month
The sixth-generation Volkswagen Polo is more like a mini Golf than ever before, offering lots of space and useful onboard technology. The five-door hatch is a classy choice that has a quality feel and brings an impressive level of refinement and comfort – if you’re after a small car that provides a middle ground between regular superminis and premium models such as the MINI, then the Polo could be worth considering.

If you’re not prioritising performance, then this Polo deal could be of interest. Offering 79bhp from its 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, it manages 0-62mph in 15.6 seconds. Such sluggish pace which will put some off, although if most of your driving takes place in town or on the urban commute, then it begins to make more sense. Combined (WLTP) fuel economy is 52.7mpg which means running costs shouldn’t be too high, while a good level of standard equipment, including 15-inch alloys, LED headlights, rear parking sensors and VW’s wireless App-Connect tech, makes for a solid package.
