Top-spec Citroen e-Berlingo Flair XTR XL added to electric MPV range
The seven-seater Citroen e-Berlingo ‘XL’ is now available in range-topping Flair XTR trim
- Top-spec e-Berlingo Flair XTR available as five or seven seater
- High level of standard equipment
- Prices start from £32,995
The Citroen e-Berlingo XL is now available in top-of-the-range Flair XTR trim. Previously only available in entry-level ‘Feel’ trim, the seven-seater Flair XTR XL model boasts a high level of standard safety equipment, technology and additional exterior styling flourishes – including Citroen’s signature Airbumps. This comes soon after the brand announced that all Berlingo models will now be available exclusively with electric powertrains.
The Citroen e-Berlingo Flair XTR XL is on sale now with prices starting from £32,995. This means that, unlike the rest of the e-Berlingo range, Flair XTR XL models miss out on the £1,500 Government Plug-in Car Grant which is only applicable to cars costing under £32,000. However, this still means that the e-Berlingo undercuts the Peugeot e-Rifter with which it shares its underpinnings.
Seven-seater ‘XL’ versions of the e-Berlingo benefit from a 35cm increase in body length over the standard five-seater ‘M’ configuration. This allows for a total load length of up to three metres and up to 500 litres of extra cargo space when all the rear seats are folded flat.
To distinguish them from the base Feel model, Flair XTR cars feature an array of cosmetic tweaks. This includes orange surrounds for the LED fog lamps, model-specific XTR badging and the addition of gloss-black roof bars. Flair XTR models also sit on a set of exclusive 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. On the inside, there are some aluminium kick plates and an exclusive ‘Resada Green’ dashboard and upholstery.
Flair XTR trim boasts a high level of standard equipment. This includes a reversing camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and an eight-inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
All cars are also equipped with Citroen’s Safety Pack. This includes tech such as lane keeping assistance, automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition and automatic high beams.
Just like the rest of the Berlingo range, the Flair XTR XL is now only available with an electric powertrain. Every version gets a 50kWh battery mated to a 134bhp electric motor. With this setup, the e-Berlingo can manage up to 174 miles of range and, thanks to 100kW fast charging capability coming as standard, it can be charged from 0-80% in 30 minutes.
