Skoda Karoq SUV gets new value-packed Edition trim levels

You now get more kit with the Skoda Karoq, including heated seats and a reversing camera

  • New Edition trim levels for the Karoq
  • More standard kit across the range
  • Prices start from £29,975

The Skoda Karoq SUV range has received a light update, adopting the brand’s value-packed Edition trim levels. We saw the new trim structure rolled out earlier this year for a host of Skoda models – including the Fabia, Scala and Kamiq – although the Karoq was notably absent. That’s now changed, and the Karoq looks more appealing than ever – prices have risen by around £200, but you get far more equipment thrown in as standard. Prices start from just under £30,000 and UK customers can place an order now.

What’s changed for the updated Skoda Kamiq?

Skoda has always set itself apart from its Volkswagen Group stablemates by offering exceptional value for money, and its Edition trim levels take this a step further. The new entry-level Kamiq SE Edition may cost £200 more than the old SE Drive model, but it comes with plenty of useful features that’ll be well worth the extra cash for most buyers.

It gets front parking sensors, a rear-view camera and keyless entry as standard, along with heated seats and a heated steering wheel. That’s on top of the old car’s already generous kit list, which includes a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Stepping up to the Karoq SE L Edition now brings an electronically opening tailgate, adaptive cruise control and a larger 9.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with built-in sat-nav. The same infotainment screen is fitted to the range-topping Karoq Sportline SE, too, along with Dynamic Chassis Control, a progressive steering system, and a hill-descent control feature for four-wheel drive models. In the back, you’ll find heated rear seats, plus you also get a heated windscreen and adaptive cruise control.

Other than those new features, it’s business as usual for the Karoq, which last underwent a major update in 2022. There’s still a choice of four engines, ranging from a 114bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine up to a 187bhp four-cylinder unit. Diesel customers are still catered for by the 148bhp TDI engine, which gets a dual-clutch automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive as standard.

Is the Skoda Karoq more expensive than before?

The ‘Edition’ badge has added £200 to Karoq’s price tag across the range, meaning that prices now span from £29,975 up to £42,825 for the top-spec TDI Karoq Sportline Edition. We reckon that’s pretty good value given the amount of standard kit that Skoda has chucked at the Karoq.

UK customers can place an order for the updated Karoq now, with the first deliveries scheduled for November 2024.
