New Skoda Kamiq Design Edition packs extra style and kit
Skoda’s smallest SUV gets a new trim level with extra kit for a little extra cash
- New Skoda Kamiq trim level
- Unique styling details and more interior kit
- Prices start from £25,855
The Skoda Kamiq lineup is set to expand with the Design Edition model, a brand new trim level that aims to win over “design-concious customers”.
Priced from £25,855, the Kamiq Design Edition slots between the entry-level SE Edition and the SE L models, featuring more kit than the former for just £735 extra. It’s available with a choice of two petrol engines and will be available to order from January 16th.
What equipment does the Kamiq Design Edition get?
For your extra £735 over the entry-level Kamiq SE Edition, the Design Edition gets a handful of stylish features, as well as some more interior kit. Externally, you’ll spot the black-painted roof and wing mirrors which are complemented by a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels. There’s privacy glass fitted as standard, too.
Inside, the Design Edition gets a pair of sports seats up front, upholstered in a combination of cloth and microsuede. Other stylish upgrades include the sports steering wheel, aluminium pedals, red dashboard trim and ambient lighting. That’s on top of the rear-view camera, digital driver’s display, 9.2-inch infotainment screen and LED headlights included with the entry-level car.
What engines are available for the Kamiq Design Edition?
The Kamiq Design Edition is offered with two petrol engines, available elsewhere in the Kamiq range. Both are 1.0-litre three-cylinder units, with power outputs of 94bhp and 114bhp. The latter is available optionally with a DSG automatic gearbox – a manual gearbox is otherwise standard-fit. Skoda claims that all models will return over 50mpg.
How much does the Kamiq Design Edition cost?
Prices start from £25,855 for the Kamiq Design Edition with the 94bhp engine. That’s only £735 more than the entry-level SE Edition car, despite the new styling touches and interior kit. Upgrading to the Kamiq Design Edition with the 114bhp engine and DSG gearbox will cost you £28,185.
Skoda will begin taking orders from January 16th, with the first customer cars arriving in the spring.
