SEAT releases new Black Edition models with sportier styling
Entire SEAT lineup benefits from new range-topping Black Editions, bringing some sporty styling tweaks

- New range-topping Black Edition trim level
- Available for Ibiza, Leon, Arona and Ateca models
- On sale now
SEAT has just released its brand new Black Edition trim, which brings some sporty styling features to its Ibiza, Leon, Arona and Ateca models. They’re all available to order now and are aimed at customers wanting a “more distinctive look” for their new car.
Starting with the smallest of the bunch, the Ibiza supermini has picked up a set of new black 18-inch alloy wheels along with a matching black roof spoiler, black wing mirrors and black side skirts. Inside, you get a pair of bucket seats up front, upholstered in ‘Dinamica’ fabric – a black microsuede material. There’s more equipment, too, including keyless entry, a panoramic sunroof and heated seats. SEAT’s other hatchback, the Leon, has picked up similar upgrades with the Black Edition trim, along with its more practical twin, the Leon Estate.
The SEAT Arona is next up, and it’s just as sporty on the outside as the Ibiza and Leon. You get black alloy wheels, side skirts and wing mirrors, but you’ll also spot the new black roof rails. There’s even a unique ‘Black Edition’ logo embossed into the B-pillar between the front and rear doors. The dark theme continues on the interior, where you’ll find dark silver trim across the dashboard, centre console and doors. The Arona Black Edition also gets bucket seats, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, park assist, and a rear-view camera.
Sitting at the top of the SEAT range, the Ateca SUV has received the Black Edition treatment, too. It gets similar black styling tweaks on the outside, plus an electric bootlid and a 360-degree parking camera.
How much do the SEAT Black Edition models cost?
The new Black Edition models are the priciest of SEAT’s trim levels. The Ibiza Black Edition is the most affordable model, costing £24,935, while the bigger Leon Black Edition costs from £33,150 (£34,625 for the Estate). The Arona small SUV costs £28,805 in Black Edition, while the Ateca is priced from £36,890 in the trim. All are available to order now.
Despite having been released in 2017, both the SEAT Ibiza and Arona will be sticking around for a while longer. The Spanish brand has confirmed that both will remain in production until 2030, while it weighs up how to tackle its electric future. For now, the new Black Edition models are likely to be the last update for these models until a heftier facelift towards the end of the year.
